1
1
1
COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 12, 1988
that additional lots could be developed. Mr. Stahlberg said
he had looked at this and felt the property owners should
get together to determine a pattern of development.
Pete Rosenthal, 288 Rohavic Lane noted that Laurene was
blacktopped within the last year and asked if municipal
water and sewer would come down this street to get to
Woodridge Estates. It appeared that the City would have to
condemn property to get to this subdivision. Mr. Stahlberg
showed on a map where the municipal water would come from on
Birch Street. Lino Lakes has two wells that service the
Birch Street trunk water line. He also explained where the
sewer line currently runs.
Ken Trittin, 6221 Laurene Avenue asked what the cost would
be when the sewer and water line goes by his house. Mr.
Stahlberg said that the cost has not been determined. The
next step is the preparation of a feasibility report and
then the costs can be estimated from the report. Mr.
Trittin said that the people are out of the picture if they
do not have the funds to pay the assessments. He told the
Council that they should have a concern for the people who
will bear the costs. Mr. Stahlberg extimated that the cost
would be about one half of that charged to a new
subdivision, or about $5,500 to $7,500. Mr. Miller noted
that he and Mr. Stahlberg have explained to the residents
that current residents can petition out of the improvement
and not be assessed. A resident asked if the assessments
had to be paid when the property is sold and Mr. Hawkins
said, no, there are no levied or pending assessments and
therefore there is nothing to pay.
Tom Brunner, 270 Linda said that Mr. Miller assured the
residents that they would be notified when another meeting
was to take place on this matter and he did not receive a
letter. Mr. Miller noted that names and addresses were
taken from all of the people who attended the meeting and
wanted notices. Mrs. Anderson did notify everyone on the
list. Mr. Brunner said he purchased hisrhouse five years
ago and said that if the street is- extended from Woodridge
Estates, there will be a lot of traffic on his street. He
said he did not want the road.
Betty Hulse, 258 Rohavic Lane asked about the Outlot "C ".
Mr. Stahlberg explained that this is a ponding area and the
water will be moving away from Mrs. Hulse's area toward
Woodridge Estates.
PAGE 10
