8 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 23, 1989 <br />Nienaber explained. He noted that this City has lowered its <br />tax capacity so that it is near the figures of neighboring <br />communities. Mr. Bisel asked how many cities in Anoka County <br />hire their own assessor? Mr. Nienaber said two that he was <br />aware of at this time. This does make the appraisal <br />throughout Anoka County comperable. <br />Mrs. Anderson noted that the Board of Review is scheduled for <br />Monday, April 17, 1989 at 7:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Nienaber explained that valuation notices are now being <br />prepared and he expected that they will be sent in the next <br />two to three weeks. <br />Mayor Benson thanked Mr. Nienaber for attending this <br />evening. <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESIGNATION FROM PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD, <br />JEFF JOYER AND DAVID CODY <br />Mayor Benson noted receipt of letters of resignation from the <br />Planning and Zoning Board from Mr. Joyer and Mr. Cody. Mr. <br />Bisel suggested that these position be advertised since they <br />are new vacancies. Mayor Benson explained that the Planning <br />and Zoning Board has scheduled a training session for <br />February 4, 1989 and if these two positions are not filled <br />tonight there will be a need for a second training session. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to accept the resignation of Mr. Joyer and <br />Mr. Cody. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. Mr. Bisel asked that letters of thanks be sent <br />to both Mr._Joyer and Mr. Cody. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to go ahead with the planned training <br />session on.February 4, 1989 and advertise the existence of <br />two new vacancies and bring them up to speed upon their <br />appointment. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTING FIRE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br />Mr. Bohjanen said he would like the Council to sit down and <br />outline positive steps as to what will be the Lino Lakes <br />position at the Steering Committe prior to the appointment of <br />representatives. Mayor Benson noted that the Council is <br />under a time constraint. Mr. Neal suggested that he and <br />Mayor Benson be appointed to the Committee. He felt that <br />delaying the appointment would be disadvantagous to Lino <br />Lakes. Mr. Schumacher explained that it is very important <br />that this Council form a united front and set perimeters for <br />the representatives to work in He suggested that this is <br />more important than who are the representatives. <br />A meeting of the City Council was set for Monday, January 30, <br />PAGE 3 <br />
