21 <br />June 24, 1974 <br />The members of the Park Board is also looking at the small parcel of park property <br />located in LaMotte's addition on the East side of Centerville with the possibility <br />of this being developed as a "Tot Lot <br />Mr. Jaworski asked if cost estimates will be included with the plans for the <br />development of these areas. <br />Mr. McLean said, Yes, all planned development of the Park areas will include a cost <br />estimate and a time schedule. <br />Mr. McLean read the following recommendation made by the Park Board; Mrs. Brisson <br />moved to recommend to the Council that a closing hour be maintained at the Anoka <br />County Park on Centerville Lake with the installation of a gate that can be locked <br />plus providing adequate sanitary facilities. Seconded by Mrs. LeTourneau. Motion <br />carried. Mr. McLean moved to forward this to the Anoka County Park Department. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski reported there will be a meeting of the Commission for Full Time Police <br />on Wednesday, June 26, 1974. He asked the Clerk to mail cards to all members to <br />remind them of the meeting. He hopes to have a recommendation for the Council by <br />the last meeting in 4u1y. <br />He presented the Council with a list of the roads that need work. Re had gotten <br />some cost estimates, but in order to do this with our own people, it will have to <br />wait until Mr. Backlin is available for supervision. The cost estimate was $82,832.00. <br />The Road budget for 1974 is $77,900.00 plus $10,000 of Federal Revenue Sharing for <br />a Truck and $8,000.00 for a storage building. <br />Mr. Marier questioned the time element. He wanted to know when the work would be <br />done and thought Mr. Jaworski should set up a schedule as to when each road would <br />be done. There was also discussion as to the type of material's to be used. Mr. <br />Marier felt that there should be a 11 inch over on all of the roads. <br />The amount of work done on Ware Road was questioned. Mr. Jaworski asked the Clerk to <br />• check for the amount spent on that street for the last three years. <br />Mr. Marier asked if the amount and type of traffic on some of these streets had <br />been considered. Mr. Jaworski said that it had. Mr. Marier asked for a starting <br />date for the work. Mr. Jaworski said this work cannot be started until Mr. Backlin <br />is available. <br />Mr. McLean asked if the work could be completed in 60 days - from July 15 to Sept. <br />15. Mr. Jaworski said that it could. When asked for suggestions as to how this can <br />be accomplished Mr. Jaworski suggested that the Personnel Commission get the <br />screening done for the hiring of the full time man to replace Mr. Backlin. <br />There was discussion on the comparision in cost of doing the work with City employees <br />or contracting the work. Mr. Jaworski said that he would work out a comparision <br />schedule. <br />The matter of the bids for the dump truck was discussed. Mr. Jaworski moved to re- <br />ject all bids and to re- advertise. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />The bids are to be in by 4:30 p.m. July 22, 1974 and will be opened at the Council <br />meeting held that evening at 8:00 p.m. The specs are to include the sentence <br />"deviations from specs will be considered in leiu of an early delivery date ". <br />
