January 13, 1975 Mr. McLean reported that there had not been a meeting of the Park Board. The two hockey rinks at Sunrise and the pleasure rink there is being flooded as the weather allows. As soon as possible, the rink at the Hall will be flooded. Mr.Bohjanen asked about a rink at Lino Park. Mr. McLean said that at the present time, there is not time to get one flooded in that area. These others will be done first, then Lino Park will be considered. Mr. Zelinka had no report. Mr. Jaworski requested a meeting of the Personnel Commission to be scheduled before the next meeting for the consideration of salary raises for the employees. After some consideration, Wednesday, January 22, 1975 was set for the meeting at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk was asked to notify the members of the Personnel Commission. Also to enclose a schedule of the present salaries. Mr. Myhre reported that he as some information on insurance for full time employees and asked what should be done with it. Mr. Zelinka suggested getting this imformation to Mr. Cartier. Mr. Jaworski asked if any information from Mr. Burman had been obtained. The Clerk said, No. He asked that she keep trying. Mr. Daniel Waldoch had dropped off an application for a permit to use surface water for irrigation on his farm. Mr. Locher had checked this and felt that it should go through the P & Z, then back to the Council. Mr. Marier said it would have to clear the Rice Creek Watershed Board first. The Clerk was told to send_ the Rice Creek Watershed Board for action then to the P & Z and then back to the Council. Mr. Locher reported on a opinion' from the Attorney General's office on the salary ordinace granting the Councilmen a raise. According to that office, since there was not a municipal election this past year, the ordinance will not become effective until after the local election in November of 1975. Since no more discussion is necessary, and the ordinance will automatically take effect after the election, Mr. McLean moved to close the discussion. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. Mr. Gotwald reported that he will be attending meetings with the PCA and HUD. There are some provisoins for grants and Mr. Gotwald will be checking the criteria for qualifying for these grants. He will report back to the Council. Mr. Jaworski asked if the Clerk had computed the cost figures for hauling sewage. She said she had totaled the costs but Mr. Locher asked if the clerical costs had been added in and they had not been. The Council asked that these figures be put into a formula and be ready for the next meeting. Mr. Jaworski asked if the meeting with the Metropolitan Council had been set. The Clerk had received no notice of a meeting. She was instructed to write Mr. Boland asking that the date be set immediatley. 103
