February 24, 1975
Mr. Gary Morehouse has asked for a temporary permit to operate a transmission
shop in a garage located on his Father's property. This would be while he
is in school and would help with the costs of school. He was told the steps
necessary to obtain the permit. He will get permission from the adjoining
property owners and return to the Planning and Zoning Board.
Mr.Robert Emery, owner of Restoration Enterprises, appeared with an idea
of adding a second building at his present location on Lake Drive. He does
not have his plans finalized but was asking for information. The Planning
and Zoning Board was receptive to his idea and asked that he present his
plans when they are complete.
Mr. Henry Amundsen, Building Inspector, hadp;resented, a schedule for a uniform
building permit fee rate. This will bring Lino Lakes into the same fee range
as is now recommended by the State. All contractors and builders will be
aware of the permit cost. Mr. Marier reported the Planning and Zoning Board
had recommended approval of this schedule. Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded
by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
On this same line of thought, Mr. Zelinka asked if anything had been or could
be done about the many buildings started and not completed or are not being
buildt according to code. Many of thse buildings have piles of building
materials stacked in back of them and are just as much of an eyesore as a rusting
car.
Mr. Marier said that no more building permits are to be issued without the
building inspector's approval, this includes garages. This was a recommendation
of the Planning and Zoning Board and Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Motion carried.
It was also noted that Mr. Ross has changed operations. There is no longer a
hardware store on the corner of Main and Old Highway 8. He now has pool and
foosball tables. The Planning and Zoning Board felt that as long as there are
no complaints they have no objections. It's some place for the young people
to go.
There was an ad in a local paper for an auto body repair shop with a number to
call. This business is located at 874 Oak Lane which is in a residential
area and is being operated without a permit. The Planning And Zoning Board had
recommended that a letter be sent to Mr. Smith asking that he appear before
the Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Motion carried.
Mr. McLean reported that the Park Commission had met on February 17, 1975 and
the meeting had been concerned with plans and specifications, for warming
house needs at the various parks. Some plans had been sent to Mr. Gotwald
for cost estimates.
These will be back some time this week and an interim meeting will be called
to consider these costs. Problems that had developed with the hockey rinks this
past season had been discussed as was the scheduling. These are items that will
be discussed further.
1
1
