160
MAY 27, 1975
Mayor Bohjanen had also received a letter informing the Council that
a Soil Resource map had been completed for the City of Lino Lakes
in May, 1972. This letter is a follow up to that map. No action
was taken by the Council on the questions asked in that letter.
Mayor Bohjanen said that he had received a "Thank You from Centerville
for the assistance given them by the Civil Defense, Police Department
and Road Department. Mayor Bohjanen added his personal "Thanks" to those
departments. There will be a complete report from the Civil Defense
at a later date.
Mr. Marier suggested that some of the Police Personnel be asked to refrain
from forcasting the weather in the wake of such a storm. Some of the
people had been told to expect the same thing in another couple of days.
Mayor Bohjanen reported that he had been told that there is a forth
coming resignation from the Police Department effective June 15, 1975.
This matter was tabled for consideration when the letter of resignation
is received.
Mr. Locher asked the Council their thoughts on the 3.2% Beer Ordinance
The general consensus of the members was that from all the merchants
they had contacted, the rates on such insurance would be prohibitive. Mr.
Locher said that he had had no case involving any part of this ordinance.
After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved to table consideration of this
ordinance for one year. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
There was no Old Business. No new business.
Before consideration of the requisition, the financial position of the
City was discussed. The money in the checking account will not cover
the bills due and payable. The Clerk said that the monies from the
liquor licenses due this date had not been received. There was dis-
cussion on this problem. Mr. Jaworski wondered why the City requires
the applicants to pay monies 30 days in advance of the expiration date on the
license and yet the City charges interest for the second half of the payment.
He was told these applications must be mailed to the State 30 days in
advance of the license renewal and the City Ordinance requires that pay-
ment be submitted with the application.
Mr. Marier moved that the applicants be informed that payment is due
within three days from this date and must be paid by that time or the
applications will be denied. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
In view of the financial position, Mr. Zelinka moved to hold all
requisitions. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried with Mr. Jaworski
voting No.
Mr. Marier moved to approve payroll checks #2957 through and including
#2984, with the net amount of $3,446.67. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion
carried.
Mr. Marier moved to approve checks #6412 through and including #6445,
voiding No.'s 6436, 6441 & 6444 and holding No.'s 6420, 6429 and 6430,
with the understanding these checks be mailed when Liquor license fees
are received. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
