JO
AUGUST 11, 1975
Mr. Locher had no report.
Mr. Gotwald reported on the memorandum received from the Metropolitan
Council staff in regards to the sewer committment for Lino Lakes. He
said this is the second report. The first on presented more than these two
proposals. This is a report from Mr. Burandt and does reflect the cost
estimates Mr. Gotwald hadused. Mr. Gotwald felt that the insistence of
conformation to the Development Framework Guide could present a problem
Mr. Zelinka arrived at 9:00 P.M.
Mr. Marier felt that the paragraphs on pages 5 and 6 curtails the City
in that there would be no development allowed for at least the next
ten years. He said the City had been complimented on the Land Use Plan
and felt that this was due to the fact that the City complied with the
wishes of the Metropolitan Council.
Mr. Marier moved to set a special meeting for August 20, 1975 at 9:00 P.M.
for discussion of this report in order to come to some conclusions. He
requested that Mr. Boland, Mrs. Peterson, Rep. Oberstar, Sen. Milton,
Rep. Neison, Mr. Burandt, Mr. Dougherty, Mr. Locher, Mr. Gotwald, Mr.
Starr and the Planning and Zoning Board be invited to attend this meeting.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski, motion carried.
Mr. Marier felt that there is no way this City could agree to such a rigid
proposal. Mr. McLean asked Mr. Gotwald if his meetings would be completed
by then and Mr. Gotwald felt that they would be and he should have a report
ready for the Council before that date.
Mrs. DeVries asked if there would be a representative from the Waste
Control at this meeting to discuss the holding tank and the hauling of
sewage from the Shenandoah area.
Mayor Bohjanen said this had not been discussed. Mrs. DeVries said she
had taled to Mr. Ray Payne on this subject and he had said that a
separate contract would be negotiated for that area.
Mr. Marier felt that this is something that the City should not get
involved with. One lady said then hauling sewage from Country Lakes
should be stopped. Mr. Marier said this is one mistake and to make a
second mistake does not make the first one right.
Mrs. DeVries asked when a time table for this would be available. No one
had an answer for her.
Under old business, Mr. Jaworski asked the Clerk to check the minutes
for the motion approving Mr. Marvin Myhre as permanent Chief of Police.
If this motion is not in the minutes, it is to be added in these minutes.
The following motion was made at the July 14, 1975 Council meeting:... "Mr.
Zelinka moved to approve the recommendation of the Personnel Commission
making the position of Acting Chief a permanent position and Mr. Marvin
Myhre be retained as Chief of Police. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion
carried. "...
Mr. Marier asked Mr. Zelinka when the next Personnel Commission meeting
is scheduled. Mr. Zelinka said the date is not definite but before the
end of this month. Mr. Marier asked that he be invited. He has some
