1
1
AUGUST 25, 1975
use of the bathroom facilities, parking, and a clean up fee to be deposited
and refunded provided the Park is left in a clean condition. After setting
the rental fee at $100.00 for the weekend with a $100.00 clean up fee to
be deposited with the Clerk, the Park Board had recommended approval of
leasing of thw two soft ball diamonds for a tournament to be held on Sept.
6th and 7th. The sponsors of this tournament must also obtain a beer
permit. Mr. McLean moved to approve the use of the Park for a tournament,
with the rental fee to be $100.00 for a two day weekend, with a $100.00
clean up fee to be posted, fees to include the two soft ball diamonds
and use of the bathroom facilities. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried.
On the issuance of the beer permit, Mr. McLean moved to approve this
permit proveded Mr. Hill presents proof of insurance. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Motion carried.
There had been general discussion of the work done and the work to be
done on all the parks. The wells (one at Sunrise and one at the Hall)
had been discussed with the flooding of hockey rinks being considered.
Two informal bids for the installation of new wells had been obtained.
The general consensus of the Park Board was that due to the insufficient
water pressure for flooding hockey rinks something must be done before
the hockey season.
Mr. Zelinka suggested an acid etch for the removal of calcium deposits
from the screens. Mr. Volk will take care of this and report back
at the next meeting.
There was also discussion of the proposed bike trail. Mr. Pracher had
called with some questions. He said he would take the information back
to his Council and would call if there is further questions. Mr. McLean
had received a letter from the Anoka County Highway Department on this
subject. This will be discussed at the next meeting.
Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. McLean to give the report from the P &Z meeting
in the absence of Mr. Marier.
The first item on the P &Z agenda had been a reqeust by Mr. Baumgart for
a variance to Ordinance 21 A, in order to construct a grage in the front
of their home. After considering the request and finding that the set
back from the property line in the front would only be 15 feet, the P &Z
had recommended denial of this request. Mr. McLean aksed if there was
any discussion on this and since there was none, he moved to approve
the recommendation of the P &Z. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
The building being constructed at 7181 Sunrise was the next item to be
considered. Mr. Amundsen had written to Mr. Landers informing him of
the areas that must be corrected. Mr. Landers was told that his garage is
too close to the County right -of -way on Elm Street but since the garage was
there before this present construction was started, he will have to
apply for a variance and that no cars are to be parked in front of the
garage. He will be at the September P &Z meeting. There is no action
the Council can take at this time. A decision will be made after the
application for a variance is considered by the P &Z.
97
