AUGUST 25, 1975
Mr. Pariseau appeared before the Board with a request for a variance to
Ordinance 21 A. This lot only has 100 foot frontage but is the only
parcel of land that is empty. The other lots had been surveyed and
marked off in 1963 but this particular piece of land had not been marked.
Mr. Pariseau was asked if there has been a perc test and he said not as yet.
After consideration, the P &Z had recommended approval of this request
for a variance. Mr. McLean so moved.
Mr. Jaworski asked if the stipulation that the house be built higher
than the street be added to that motion. This is necessary for adequate
drainage.
Mr. Pariseau said the lot tapers toward the rear. It is a black dirt
lot and they plan to push the dirt forward and construct a home with
a walk out basement. He could not forsee any problem with water drainage.
Mr. McLean added that adequate storm drainage be a part of the land -
scapping to the original motion. Mr. Jaworski asked to insert the
following statement to the motion "the building inspector be requested
to check the building site prior to the installation of the foundation
to assure that the building location meets the requirements of the
ordiance. Seconded by Mr.Zelinka. Motion carried.
Mr. Scherer from the audience-asked about a house being constructed to
the Southeast of his property. He felt that the house is too low and
wondered how a building permit had been issued for that location. The
Clerk was instructed to aske the Building Inspector to take a look at
it.
Mr. Dave Sina, from the Glenn Rehbein Excavating Company had appeared
before the Board for consideration of mini storage buildings to be
constructed in conjunction with the new office and shop Mr. Rehbeinr
is now building. Since no information had been forwarded to the P &Z members,
Mr. Sina asked about the possibility of scheduling a special meeting to
consider these buildings.
Since this project will have a tax base of approximatiey $100,000.00, Mr.
Shearan felt that a special meeting would no be out of order. Mr. Shearan
moved to set a special meeting on Wednesday, September 3, 1975 at 8:00 P.M.
for the consideration of these buildings. Seconded by Mr. Kelling.
Motion carried.
Mr. Jaworski felt tha -t the requirement of having plans in to the P &Z ten
days ahead of the meeting should be adhered to. He felt that if a
contractor cannot get this information to the Clerk and needs to request
a special meeting there should be a charge. These men put in a lot of
time with no return.
Mayor Bohjanen asked the Clerk to read a letter on the Clean Indoor Air
Act. This deals with designating no smoking areas in Public Meeting
Places. The rules and regulations governing this act have not been
adopted as yet. Mr. Jaworski suggested tabling this matter until this
is completed.
Mr. Locher said the law is very unclear in that 'smoking' and 'non-
smoking' areas have no division, nor specific spearation.
