OCTOBER 28, 1975
than five feet from the property line (4'2 ") and the ordinance states that
it must be five feet from the lot line. This was discussed at the 9/22/75
Council Meeting and a variance was granted to the present owners, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Robinson. (Refer to page 3, paragraph 12 of the 9/22/75
Council Minutes.)
At the September meeting, the Robinson's were told that the variance is
issued for the owner rather than the property but there would be no problem
in the new owners getting a variance. All they would have to do is refer
to the action taken at the 9/22/75 Council Meeting.
Mr. McLean asked if this could not be made a permanent variance for the
property rather than each owner. Mr. Locher said that a certified copy
of these minutes would be all that is required to make the variance a
part of the abstract of deed for this property.
Based on that information, Mr. Zelinka moved that we allow this variance
to be added to the abstract by means of a certified copy of the minutes
of this meeting and that the variance be granted to Mr. and Mrs. Vomela.
Motion was seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Luger of 1545 LaMotte Drive had appeared before the
P &Z to request permission to build a 6 foot side lot fence from 15' from
the front road to behind the house. Ordinance 56 states that a fence may
be more than 32 feet high in the front of the lot.
Mr. McLean so moved that they be allowed to erect this fence provided that
proper air flow is allowed for, the fence is no higher than 6 feet in
height and it be a stockade type fence. Mr. Jaworski seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Mr. McLean reported on the Park Board Meeting that was on October 20, 1975.
The basic item for consideration at that meeting was the budget for 1976.
The Park Board came up with a preliminary presentation of $30,775.00 to
present to the City Council for consideration. Fixed expenditures amounted
to $11,500.00 and other were set forth on a priority basis and consisted
of lime rock, the purchase of hand mowers, power rake, safety fences, hockey
lights, etc. The Council has taken these requests under advisement and
will make a final decision at the last budget meeting.
Mrs. Ringamen, from the audience, asked if the repairs to the Billik
Home have been completed? Mr. McLean said that the chimney had been re-
paired and the windows are being completed as quickly as possible. The
treest that had come down in Sunrise Park have been cut for firewood
for Mrs. Billik this winter.
Mr. Locher reported that he had completed the proposed Dog Control
Ordinance and wanted to know how the Council wished to handle this.
Mayor Bohjanen said he favored a public hearing on the matter since so
many residents have definite opinions of the subject of dog control.
Mr. Jaworski moved to table this until the November 10, 1975 Council
Meeting, Mr. McLean seconded the motion . Motion carried.
Mr. Jaworski brought up the subject of the Police Contract and the
fact that this will be going to mediation. It is his understanding
that this will cost the City $1,800.00. He said that he had worked
