1
1
NOVEMBER 24, 1975
Mr. Marier moved to set a hearing for the re- zoning of the property from
"Commercial" to "Light Industrial- Commercial" to be heard before the
Planning and Zoning Board at 8:05 P.M. on December 17, 1975 and before the
City Council at 8:15 P.M. on December 22, 1975. Mr. Locher to handle the
publication and notification of the adjoining property owners. Mr. Marier suggested
the Rice Creek Watershed Board receive notification of this action. Seconded
by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
The Planning and Zoning Board had received a copy of an application to
transfer title of land of less than 2Z acres from Ernest Apitz to Keith
Apitz. This land is for access and a garden. The Planning and Zoning
Board felt that no action was necessary and recommended approval. Mr.
Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
Mr. McLean presented the action taken by the Park, Recreational and
Enviornmental Board at their meeting held on November 17, 1975. Two members
of the Centennial Hockey Association had attended the meeting to offer their
assistance in the maintenance of the rinks.
Mr. McLean announced that Mr. Dick Petcoff, of the Anoka County Park Department,
will be holding a seminar on the proper method of flooding rinks. The
Association members said they would like to be informed when this is being held
so they can attend.
The Commission had asked for a schedule from the Association as soon as possible.
A copy of last year's schedule was examined and the Association members felt
that this year's schedule should be pretty much the same. These men worked at
the rinks this past weekend rebuilding the players boxes.
Mr. Jaworski asked if there had been discussion about co- ordinating the
volunteer help for rink maintenance and Mr. McLean said, Yes, this had been
discussed.
Mr. Jaworski asked if the flooding had started on the rinks and Mr. McLean
said, No.
In reference to this, the well driller had been in the office this day. He
has applied for his performance bond but has not received it as yet. He is
ready to start on the well at Sunrise. Mr. Gotwald had felt that a performance
bond on an operation such as this was unnecessary. Mr. Locher thought that a
performance bond should be posted. After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved to
allow the drilling of the wells but the performance bond must be posted before
payment for the well will be made. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
Mr. Zelinka asked if there were any plans for a warming house? Mr. McLean said
the one at Sunrise will have to serve in it's present condition and size. Mr.
Karth is discussing the necessity for supervision with the Lino Lakes Athletic
Association. If there are enough volunteers to provide the supervision necessary,
then the rental of a unit will have to be considered for the Hall Property.
Mr. Karth; was in the audience and he reported that he did not feel there would
be enough people volunteer to handle this. He will keep the Council informed.
