189
November 27, 1978
The Council asked Mr. McGowan to check under the uninsured motorist clause
in the vehicle insurance for the possibility of the City recovering the
money they had paid to Mr. Kirschbaum.
Mr. McGowan suggested that perhaps the City should consider going to a
$50.00 deductible under the comprehesive insurance and a $250.00
deductible under the collision. He will prepare figures for this for
Council consideration.
The Clerk was instructed to check insurance certificaties for the XCU
coverage. This should be a must.
There was discussion on the insurance carried on the rented equipment.
Mr. McGowan felt it would be better to carry blanket coverage rather than
insure each piece of equipment as it is rented.
He will present cost figures on this as well as the Wrrors and Ommission
coverage for the Council members. It was felt tha tperhaps the limits
on this should be increased.
The building value was set at $150,000. It was felt that perhaps this
is too low. Mr. Gotwald will check construction costs for replacement
value. In the meantime, Mr. MCGowan will ptu a binder on the building
for $200,000. Mr. Gotwald also suggested that perhaps the well and well
house was not insured at replacement costs. He will check this also for
a recommendation.
Mr. Volk, Chief Myjre and the Clerk are to update their inventories
and get the information to Mr. McGowan for the possible need to increase
that coverage also. Mr. McGowan will return to the December 11, 1978
meeting with cost figures and his recommendations.
There was discussion of increasing the coverage for the replacement
of valuable papers to $25,000.00 and the cost of temporary office rental
should be included at the figure of $20,00. These matters will all be
discussed at the December 11, 1978 meeting.
Mr. McLean presented the following items for the Planning and Zoning
Board meeting held on November 15, 1978.
.. A preliminary plat was presented by Mr. Van Kleek. The Planning and
Zoning found the plat to be acceptable and advised Mr. Van Kleek to continue
..Mr. Allan Le Tournear had presented a request for a variance to transfer
a parcel of land 10' in width. The Planning and Zoning Board had re-
commended approval of this variance with the stipulation this be combined
with the existing lot to form one parcel of land. Mr. McLean so moved.
Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed.
Mr. Jerry Blackbird had presented some questions on the construction
of Quads. He was questioning the current requirements of square footage.
The Planning and Zoning asked that he put together some date for presen-
tation. Mr. McLean asked Mr. Gotwald if he would also get some information
for the Board to consider. Mr. Gotwald said hw would.
Mr. Dennis Cunningham had applied for a variance to construct his secondary
building, which is a barn to house horses, before the primary building
is constructed. The use of the land was discussed and it was felt that
Mr. Cunningham should have a special use permit before proceeding with
any construction.
