200 <br />December 26, 1978 <br />would be sufficient to service the entire building in the case of an <br />emergency. <br />Mr. Cape reported that the Civil Defense had been informed of of using <br />methods of pumping gasoline in a case of a pwer failure. He asked Mr. <br />Locher if they distributed this information to the local stations, would <br />the City be involved in any way legally. Mr. Locher said, No, this is <br />merely information and how they the information is the responsibility of the <br />local station owners. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported that the patent Attorney started a patent search about <br />six weeks ago and he ahs not heard from his as yet. It ususally takes <br />2/2 months for this search. <br />Mayor Karth reported that Mr. Gotwald had called and requested some action <br />on the petition for utliities to be installed on Black Duck Drive. He had <br />reported that the petitioners own approximately 46% ofthe effected front- <br />age. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve the feasibility study. Seconded by Mr. <br />Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed. <br />Mayor Karth reported that he and received several names for the various <br />board. Mr. Zelinka requested the Clerk to call the members of the Park <br />Board whose terms are expiring and ask if they would like to be considered <br />for another term. <br />Mayor Karth asked if the Members had any objections to confirming some of <br />the regular appontments at this meeting, and the Members had no objections. <br />Mayor Karth made the following appointments; Margie Roisum, Assessor; Mr. <br />Armold Kelling, Assistant Assessor, Mr. Richard Hauer, Fire Marshall; Mr. <br />Allan Robinson, Weed Inspector; and the Anoka County Health Department as <br />the offical Health Officer. <br />There had been no bids received for the Animal Control. The Clerk was in- <br />structed to contact Baline All Pets and M.A.P.S.I. for bids. <br />1 <br />1 <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve these appointments. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. <br />Motion declared passed. <br />Mayor Karth made the following appointments; Mr. Landol Locher, City <br />Attoreny; Mr. George Gotwald, City Engineer; Mr. William Short, City Planner; <br />Mr. Gene Mobley, Building Inspector; Mr. Robert Vadnais, Plumbing Inspector; <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve these appointments. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. <br />Motion declared passed. <br />Mayor Karth set a special meeting for Thursday, December 28, 1978, at 7:00 P.M. <br />for the purpose of making the appointments to the various boards. Mr. <br />Kulaszewicz so moved. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion declared passed. <br />Mayor Karth reported that he had had a call from the petitioners in the <br />matter of the merger of Centerville and Lino Lakes and had been informed <br />that the petition is being withdrawn. <br />Mr. Locher had checked on the State Statutes dealing with the sale of <br />liquor on Sunday evening, New Year's eve. The State Statute says that no <br />liquor may be sold or given away after 12:00 Midnight.
