269 June 25, 1979 The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: ..A letter from Consulting Engineers Diversified, addressed to Mayor Karth setting forth eheir involvement in a study to analyze wastewater management needs within the Northwest Area. There are maps enclosed asking for population and employment projections to the year 2020. Mr. Gotwald will look this over. ..A permit from the DNR to the Anoka County Highway Department for the extension of the 36" culvert in conjunction with the upgrading of Birch St. ..A letter from the Minnesota Shade Tree Program announcing that that department has raised the allocation for last year's work and a form to be approved and returned. It would appear that this City will creceive an amount of $345.50. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve this application. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed. .. The Minnesota PCA had forwarded a copy of the permit for the extension and operation of the sanitary sewer extension in Lakes Add. #2. ..Information on a service contract for the IBM machines through SOS. The contract costs ares much less. There was no decision on this matter. ..A11 Council members have a copy of Mr. Locher's letter in reference the the Tagg matter and the court decision. ..A notice of non - renewal from Auto - Owners Insurance had been received. ..All Council members have a copy of the letter from the Minnesota Department of Corrections denying the request of the County to use part of the property at that location for a County facility. ..Mr. Gerald Wallace, of NSP, had dropped off a letter at the office stating that they will not promote the project in Lakes Add. #2, but will not oppose and if the project is ordered, will pay the assessments in an orderly manner. ..A joint powers agreement for the screening and hiring of Police officers had been copies for all Council members and Mr. Locher. Mr. Locher will check this before Council discussion. ..A letter from the Minnesota Department of Corrections supporting a moved to install sewers in the area of that.facility. Mr. Bob Burman and Mr. Paul Ruud were present to present the final plans for the upgrading of Birch Street and to get Council approval of this work. Mr. Ruud said the only change in the original plas were the shoulders will not be blacktopped at this time. It is not financially feasible due to the increase in cost of materials. Mr. Ruud indicated this will be done in two to three years. Mayor Karth asked about the plans for upgrading Highway #8. Mr. Ruud said the plans are just about ready for discussion with Lino Lakes and Columbus on the problems of drainage. Mr. Ruud thought that perhaps construction on this would begin sometime in 1980. Mr. Zelinka moved to adopt the following Resolution: At a duly authorized meeting of the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, the following Resolution was moved and adopted: WHEREAS, plans for construction project No. S.F. 02- 610 -06 showing proposed alignment, profiles, grades and cross sections, together with specifications and special provisions for the (construction), of County State Aid Highway #10 within the limits of the City as a (Federal) Aid Project have been prepared and presented to the City: NOW THEREFORES, IT IS RESOLVED: That said plans, specifications and special provisions bi in all things approved.
