269 <br />June 25, 1979 <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: <br />..A letter from Consulting Engineers Diversified, addressed to Mayor <br />Karth setting forth eheir involvement in a study to analyze wastewater <br />management needs within the Northwest Area. There are maps enclosed <br />asking for population and employment projections to the year 2020. Mr. <br />Gotwald will look this over. <br />..A permit from the DNR to the Anoka County Highway Department for the <br />extension of the 36" culvert in conjunction with the upgrading of Birch St. <br />..A letter from the Minnesota Shade Tree Program announcing that that <br />department has raised the allocation for last year's work and a form to <br />be approved and returned. It would appear that this City will creceive <br />an amount of $345.50. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve this application. <br />Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed. <br />.. The Minnesota PCA had forwarded a copy of the permit for the extension <br />and operation of the sanitary sewer extension in Lakes Add. #2. <br />..Information on a service contract for the IBM machines through SOS. The <br />contract costs ares much less. There was no decision on this matter. <br />..A11 Council members have a copy of Mr. Locher's letter in reference <br />the the Tagg matter and the court decision. <br />..A notice of non - renewal from Auto - Owners Insurance had been received. <br />..All Council members have a copy of the letter from the Minnesota <br />Department of Corrections denying the request of the County to use part <br />of the property at that location for a County facility. <br />..Mr. Gerald Wallace, of NSP, had dropped off a letter at the office <br />stating that they will not promote the project in Lakes Add. #2, but will <br />not oppose and if the project is ordered, will pay the assessments in <br />an orderly manner. <br />..A joint powers agreement for the screening and hiring of Police officers <br />had been copies for all Council members and Mr. Locher. Mr. Locher <br />will check this before Council discussion. <br />..A letter from the Minnesota Department of Corrections supporting a <br />moved to install sewers in the area of that.facility. <br />Mr. Bob Burman and Mr. Paul Ruud were present to present the final plans <br />for the upgrading of Birch Street and to get Council approval of this work. <br />Mr. Ruud said the only change in the original plas were the shoulders will <br />not be blacktopped at this time. It is not financially feasible due to <br />the increase in cost of materials. Mr. Ruud indicated this will be <br />done in two to three years. <br />Mayor Karth asked about the plans for upgrading Highway #8. Mr. Ruud <br />said the plans are just about ready for discussion with Lino Lakes and <br />Columbus on the problems of drainage. Mr. Ruud thought that perhaps <br />construction on this would begin sometime in 1980. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to adopt the following Resolution: <br />At a duly authorized meeting of the City Council of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota, the following Resolution was moved and adopted: <br />WHEREAS, plans for construction project No. S.F. 02- 610 -06 showing <br />proposed alignment, profiles, grades and cross sections, together <br />with specifications and special provisions for the (construction), <br />of County State Aid Highway #10 within the limits of the City as a <br />(Federal) Aid Project have been prepared and presented to the City: <br />NOW THEREFORES, IT IS RESOLVED: That said plans, specifications and <br />special provisions bi in all things approved. <br />
