1 COUNCIL MEETING MAY 13, 1991 Council Member Reinert moved to approve the recreation agreement.' with Centennial School District No. 12. Council Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. VOTING ON THE MOTION: Bisel Neal El Absent: Kuether Motion carried. Bohjanen Reinert Kuether ❑ CONSIDERATION FOR APPROVAL OF PARK AGREEMENT WITH CENTENNIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 12 Mr. Volk explained that this agreement involves the facilities at the new Birch Street Centennial Elementary School. According to the agreement, the City of Lino Lakes would use the open space as if it were a city park. The plans for the site include facilities that can be used as a community park. The school district will build the facilities and the City will maintain it. Council Member Reinert moved to approve the park agreement with Centennial School District No. 12. Council Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. VOTING ON THE MOTION: Bisel Neal Absent: none Bohjanen Reinert El Motion carried unanimously. Kuether CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT WITH BRAUER AND ASSOCIATES FOR COMPREHENSIVE PARK PLAN, DON VOLK Mr. Volk gave a brief outline on where this City is in regard to establishing a comprehensive park plan. The Council did authorize the Park Board to solicit a contract for preparation of the comprehensive park. The proposed contract with Brauer and Associates, LTD. will allow the City to cancel the contract at any point it so desires. There was discussion regarding the hourly rates charged in the contract. Mr. Volk was encouraged to use staff time as much as possible. Council Member Reinert moved to approve a contract with Brauer and Associates, LTD. for a comprehensive park plan with the contingency that Mr. Volk update the Council monthly as to the PAGE 10 147
