1
COUNCIL MEETING
Neal © Reinert El
Absent: none
Motion carried unanimously.
MAY 13, 1991
FIRST READING, ORDINANCE NO. 08 - 91 DELETING BOND REQUIREMENTS
FOR LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATIONS, MARILYN ANDERSON
Mrs. Anderson explained that during the 1990 legislative session,
the legislature unceremoniously deleted the requirement for
liquor bonds from state statutes. Legislator's cited such
reasons as: no bond has ever been collected, the bond had no
value and the original intent of the bond was supplanted with
dram shop insurance and no municipality objected to the deletion.
Further, the licensee's objected to the cost. The Lino Lakes
liquor code still requires the bond and several license holders
have called asking that the Council to consider deleting this
portion of the City Code. Mrs. Anderson also noted that not all
municipalities have elected to delete this requirement from their
liquor codes.
Council Member Neal moved to adopt the first reading of Ordinance
No. 08 - 91 deleting the bond requirement for liquor
establishments. Council Member Reinert seconded the motion.
VOTING ON THE MOTION:
Bisel
Neal
Bohjanen
Reinert
Kuether
Absent: none
Motion carried unanimously.
Ordinance No. 08 - 91 can be found at the end of these minutes.
CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A BLOCK PARTY,
CUL -DE -SAC AT INTERSECTION OF GREENBRIAR DRIVE AND ANTELOPE
DRIVE, SUNRISE MEADOWS, MARILYN ANDERSON
Mrs. Anderson explained that this is a request for a block party
to be held on June 22, 1991.
