1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Nick Naga, 850 Olive Street expressed concern about hazardous <br />material that could be on the site. He noted that oil and other <br />hazardous products may not be properly disposed of and can seep <br />into the ground water and contaminate nearby wells. He asked <br />that this matter be addressed prior to granting the CUP <br />amendment. <br />There was no one else to speak for or against the CUP request. <br />Council Member Bohjanen moved to close the public hearing at 8:54 <br />P.M. Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Volk explained that the State of Minnesota has regulations <br />regarding the disposal of hazardous waste. He explained that the <br />vendor is required to record where hazardous materials were <br />delivered and the method of disposal of the hazardous waste. If <br />reports of delivery and disposal do not match, the PCA steps in <br />and investigates the matter. In addition, the Centennial Fire <br />Department performs periodic inspections of all businesses known <br />to use hazardous waste products. <br />After further discussion regarding the use and disposal of <br />hazardous waste products, Mayor Bisel said he would like to see <br />well water tests done in areas where possible contamination could <br />occur. <br />Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve DRB application No. 91 - <br />20 including the 16 stipulations recommended by the DRB. Council <br />Member Neal seconded the motion. <br />VOTING ON THE MOTION: <br />Bisel <br />Neal <br />Bohjanen <br />Reinert El <br />Kuether <br />Abstained: none. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bisel asked that a draft ordinance be prepared regarding <br />testing ground water for contamination. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />Resolution No. 69 - 91 Declaring Adequacy of Petition and <br />Ordering Report, Ware Road Sewer and Water Improvement, Darrell <br />Schneider - Mr. Schneider explained that 10 of the 17 home owners <br />along Ware Road next to PineRidge Addition have signed a petition <br />requesting that a feasibility study be prepared so that the costs <br />of connecting to the sewer and water lines can be determined. <br />Council Member Neal moved to approve Resolution No. 69 - 91 <br />Ordering the Report.
