68 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 27, 1992 <br />Mr. Tesch noted that he has contacted several other <br />municipalities to determine what types of policies are currently <br />utilized in other governmental entities and he has also requested <br />information from the League of Minnesota Cities on this matter. <br />His research along with the City Administrator's recommendations <br />on a severance pay policy will be presented to the City Council <br />at the time the current Personnel Policy is presented for review <br />in February. <br />Council Member Neal moved to rescind the current severance pay <br />policy. Council Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />Mr. Schneider and Mr. Boxrud did not have a report. <br />The City Council adjourned to a closed session at 6:57 P.M. to <br />discuss the Paul Howard Litigation. <br />The City Council returned from closed session at 7:15 P.M. <br />ATTORNEY'S REPORT, BILL HAWKINS <br />Paul Howard Litigation - Mr. Hawkins explained that the Council <br />has met on this matter and an agreement with Mr. Howard has been <br />reached. He gave a brief background on this matter for all <br />Council Members and the audience. Mr. Hawkins noted that the <br />Council has accepted the agreement in principal and the agreement <br />must now be prepared in writtep form. A brief outline of the <br />agreement was given to the audience and Mr. Hawkins recommended <br />approval of the agreement. <br />Council Member Neal moved to accept the report of the City <br />Attorney and direct the City Attorney to prepare a final <br />agreement document for review and approval by the Council. <br />Council Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Hawkins explained that the City will have to conduct another <br />public hearing regarding rezoning of Mr. Howard's property from <br />Single Family Residential (R -1) to Manufactured Home Park (R -6). <br />This public hearing will be set after the receipt of the final <br />agreement with Mr. Howard. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, REZONE SHORES OF MARSHAN LAKE (FORJAY PROPERTY), <br />ORDINANCE NO. 03 - 92 (OPEN PUBLIC HEARING AND CONTINUE TO <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1992, 7:00 P.M.) <br />PAGE 5 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
