1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 27, 1992 <br />Mayor Reinert opened the public hearing at 7:21 P.M. Council <br />Member Elliott moved to continue the public hearing as noted <br />above. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, PRELIMINARY PLAT OF SHORES OF MARSHAN LAKE, (OPEN <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND CONTINUE TO FEBRUARY 24, 1992, 7:15 P.M.) <br />Mayor Reinert opened the public hearing at 7:22 P.M. Mr. <br />Schneider noted that the material on this preliminary plat had <br />been submitted this afternoon and will be considered by the <br />Design Review Board at their February 12, 1992 meeting. Council <br />Member Neal moved to continue the public hearing as noted above. <br />Council Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Consideration of Hiring of City Engineer's Position Effective <br />February 1, 1992 - Mr. Tesch explained that during the 1992 <br />Budget meetings, the position of City Engineer was approved. In <br />recent work sessions, the Council has discussed hiring Mr. <br />Darrell Schneider, the current consulting engineer from TKDA. <br />Mr. Tesch noted his qualifications and explained that Mr. <br />Schneider has accepted the position starting at $53,000.00 per <br />year, with three (3) weeks vacation effective immediately, <br />employment to begin on February 1, 1992 and all other terms of <br />employment as outlined in the Personnel Policy. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to hire Mr. Darrell Schneider as the <br />City Engineer with the recommendations outlined in the "green <br />sheet ". Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Reinert welcomed Mr. Schneider as a City employee and said <br />he felt that the City was extremely fortunate to hire a person <br />with Mr. Schneider's experience and knowledge. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Water and Sewer Utility Connections Report - Mayor Reinert <br />explained that this report is critical in determining whether or <br />not this City will keep abreast of its financial commitments in <br />the repayment of improvement bonds. Mr. Schneider explained that <br />the report does confirm that the City is basically meeting its <br />plan for connections. However, the completion of connections in <br />the next two (2) years will be most critical. Mr. Schneider <br />explained that he planned to update this report and bring it to <br />the Council on a quarterly basis. <br />PAGE 6 <br />6 <br />
