COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 12, 1995 <br />aware of this expense and has donated $800.00 for the cost of the <br />rental of the barricades. The purpose of Resolution No. 95 - 64 <br />is to publicly thank the Circle -Lex VFW Post No. 6583 for their <br />generous donation. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to adopt Resolution No. 95 - 64. <br />Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 95 - 64 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING IMPLEMENTATION OF MASTER PARK PLAN FOR <br />FOUR (4) PARKS <br />Mr. Asleson explained that for the past several months, staff has <br />been working with the Birchwood Acres /Park Grove /Pineridge, <br />Brandywood, Pheasant Hills Preserve, and Wenzel Farms <br />neighborhoods and the City Park Planner, Jeff Schoenbauer from <br />Brauer and Associates in developing master plans for each <br />respective park area. This planing exercise was needed to begin <br />development of these parks. <br />The Park Board recommended, and the City Council approved the <br />expenditure of Dedicated Park Funds to carry out the planning <br />process and begin a limited amount of phased development for <br />these park areas. The developer of Pheasant Hills Preserve has <br />agreed to spend up to $28,000.00 to plan and phase -in that park. <br />Copies of the master plans and estimated cost for each park area <br />was included in the Council packets. Both the Birchwood Acres <br />and Brandywood parks need additional land for park development. <br />Additional land will be acquired from developers when surrounding <br />areas develop. <br />The master plans have been approved by the Park Board. The <br />purpose of this report is to obtain City Council approval for the <br />development plans so that development of the parks can begin. <br />Mayor Reinert noted that each of these parks were planned with <br />the involvement of the neighborhood. Mr. Asleson explained that <br />the neighborhood residents met with the Park Board and Mr. <br />Schoenbauer and provided input into the development of their <br />park. The neighborhoods will also work to develop their park. <br />Mr. Asleson recommended that the master plans for Birchwood <br />Acres /Park Grove /Pine Ridge, Brandywood Estates, Pheasant Hills <br />Preserve and Wenzel Farms be approved. Council Member Elliott <br />moved to approve the recommendation of Mr. Asleson. Council <br />Member Bergeson seconded the motion.
