11 -27 -73
Mr. Cardinal reported that he also had a phone call from Mr. Herbst. He gave some
details of the problems that Mr. Herbst is having in the area. Mr. CArdinal reported
that Mr. Herbst wi I I be at our Next Council meeting and had asked to put on the agenda fo
that meeting.
Mr. CArdinal had asked for information about our burning ban and the areas it emcompasses.
The Clerk had supplied a copy of Our Ordinance and a map with the non - burning areas marked.
Mr. CArdinal asked who set up these areas and was told that they were areas designated
by the PCA. Mr. CArdinal asked how the areas were determined and was told that the criteria
used is t00 persons per square mile.
Mr. Cardinal reported that nothing definite had been decided by the Park Board on the
Baldwin Lake Property. They are still working on it. He had received a request for a
warming house at the Village Hall Property. He also had a bid from Total Packaging for a
10x14 insulated building with electricity installed for $1526.00 and one 10x10 with no
insulation for $1199.00. These buildings are on skids. We would have to haul them and
delivery date is 3 weeks from date of order.
Mr. Cardinal reported that the Park Board had recommended the pruchase of a warming house
for the Village Hall property. He realized that there was only ony bid but he should
have two more some time this coming week.
Mr. Bohjanen presented a petition with 108 names requesting a warming house for the area.
Mr. Marier said he hoped that we were not dividing the Village just because of the lake
through the middle. Our main concern should be to serve the entire Village. He asked
who had requested the bid that Mr. CArdinal had.
Mr. Bohjanen said he had attended the Park Board meeting and had given the name of the III
Company to the Park Baord.
There was discussion on the type and cost of a heater for the warming house. Mr. Jaworski
suggested a butane heater with the tanks attached to the building so that the entire
package could be moved away in the Spring.
Mr. CArdinal moved to buy a warming house from the lowest bidder for the Hall property.
Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. 'Motion failed with a tie vote.
Mr. CArdinal made a note of the fact that the bids we will be receiving should be
comparable to the one we now have.
Mr. Jaworski moved to authorize Mr. Cardinal to get bids on a warming house and put in a
requisition and go through normal channels. Seconded by Mr. Marier.
Mr. Marier amended the motion to have a study made of the number of children using the
pond so as to determine the size of the building. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried.
The vote was then called for on the original motion. MOtion carried.
The Park Board was asked to have the report ready for the next Council meeting. Mr.
Cardinal said he would.
Mr. Jaworski reported on the Ford tractor. He had a note from Mr. Back I i n stating
that the tractor needed new rams, two new tires, and a ring gear. The repairs would
cost between $150.00 and $200.00. Mr.Jaworski wondered if the tractor was worth putting
that much into it or would we be money ahead by looking into a new or used one.
