114 <br />March 26, 1973 <br />While on the subject of Parks, Mr. Jaworski requested the use of the <br />Village Hall garage on a Sunday to hold a rummage sale. He will be here <br />to move the equipment. This was agreeable with the Counci I . The date <br />will be set later. <br />Mr. Jaworski reported that the Stand -pipe is in and working perfectly. <br />Mr. Jack Rector has been driving the truck and has the run down to about <br />45 minutes for a round trip. <br />Mr. Jaworski presented the bids on the roads and reported that before <br />the work is started that Columbus and Hugo must be contacted in regards <br />to Pine Street and 24th Avenue. There was discussion on how this had <br />been handled in the past and what we could or could not do with this bid. <br />The Engineer will notify the bidder of the acceptance of his bid and take <br />care of the performance bond. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to award the road improvement contract to the H &S <br />Asphalt Co. of Anoka for road work on the roads specified on the Village <br />Map- to contact Hugo and Columbus as to their share of the cost on <br />Pine Street and 24th Avenue. Mr. Jaworski and Mr. Marier to appear at <br />the Hugo Council meeting on April 2, 1973. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried unamiously. <br />The Clerk is to contact the Hugo Village Clerk and ask that Mr. Jaworski <br />and Mr. Marier be put,,on their agenda for the meeting on April 2, 1973. <br />Mr. Jaworski also reported that in talking with Mr. Gotwald it was <br />recommended that Mr. Backl in have as reference a State Specs for Roads <br />manual. Ther is a requisition for the book. <br />Mr. Jaworski had also contacted Welsch Tree Service on the removal of <br />the stumps on Pelte r and Sunrise. They will be out this week to take <br />a look. <br />The First engine purchased for the Police car would not fit so it had <br />been exchanged. The second engine was frozen. Mr. Jaworski presented <br />figures on several ways to repair the car. Mr. Marier moved to purchase <br />a new short block for the 1970 Plymouth. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mr. Ze I i nka reported there is no b i l l from the Electrical contractor for <br />the work on the stand pipe. Mr. Marier moved that all cost incurred in <br />installing the stand pipe be charged against the construction fund. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Marier reported on the P &Z meeting of the 2Ist. Mr. Henry Speiser <br />had appeared asking for a variance to Ord. #21 to split his lacre lot <br />in order for his son to build on one half. This would create two Tots <br />of 104' frontage each. Since our Ordinance requires 150', the re- <br />commendation of the P &Z was that this request be denied. There was <br />discussion on the fact that this is all the land he owns; that he can- <br />not purchase any more; that a house had been built next to this property <br />in 1968 on a one -half acre lot; that each request must be passed on <br />its own merit. Mr. Marier said he was only passing on the recommendations <br />
