184 <br />August 13, 1973 <br />Mr. Jaworski brought up the subject of the pond in front of the Hall. <br />Should it be filled inlor the bottom sealed and maintained as a pond? <br />There was discussion on both ideas with Mr. Bohjanen asking Mr. Cardinal <br />to have the Park Board make a study and bring a recommendation to the <br />next Council meeting. <br />Mr. Jaworski reported that he had attended the Columbus Township Board <br />meeting and discussed Pine Street with them. They have discussed this <br />subject and have concluded that there just ins't enough money in their <br />road budget this year to do any work on this street. They are checking <br />into the idea of purchasing equipment to enable them to do their on road <br />work. They are discussing the purchase of a Seman mixer for $1,500.00. <br />They would like Lino Lakes to go in with them on this purchase on a <br />50/50 basis. The cost figures will beComputed and compared with contract <br />figures for the feasibility of this move. The Counci 1 asked that Mr. <br />Jaworski keep in contact with them on this idea. <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked about dust control on P,,ne Street near the Rehbein <br />Arena, especially on days when they have a horse show. There was dis- <br />cussion on the use of used crank case of I . Mr. Back I i n is to check with <br />Centervi I le- find out who did it for them and the cost. <br />Mr. Jaworski asked the Clerk how much of the bid price on the road con- <br />tract had been paid to H &S? She said only the two checks she didn't <br />have the exact figures. <br />Mr. Jaworski said since we will not be surfacing Pine Street or 24th <br />Ave., he would like to put a 1" mat on a portion of Ware Road. Mr. <br />Gotwald brought up the subject of the street being torn up if Mr. Rehbein <br />gets the approval to lay his sewer lines. There was discussion on where <br />the lines would be laid. Mr. Jaworski said that he would like to use <br />the surplus money in the contract to seal coat the street that we had <br />put road mi<x on this year. <br />Mr. GotwaLd said if this would be done, there would be a good surface <br />on all these streets. He would recommend an 1" over ~lay on Ware Road. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize H &S Asphalt under Mr. Jaworski's super- <br />vision, to put a 1" hot mix overlay on Ware Road from Birch Street to <br />62nd street providing this can be worked within the contract amount. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to seal coat Holly, 12th Ave., 77th St., 80th St., and <br />East and West Rondeau Lake Road before doing the work on Ware Road. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Backlin brought up the repair work needed on a section of 24th near <br />Mr. Houle's place. There was discussion on how this could be repaired. <br />Mr. Zelinka will have an Enviornmental Commission report for the next <br />Council meeting and he wi 11 aslo write up the Police report for Mr. <br />Bohjanen. He reported a car, License #3ND392, has been parked on the <br />shoulder of the street just North of his house on Lakeview for several <br />weeks. He asked that the Police check this out.
