a
2.1_
Oct. 23, 1973
we are dropping our membership in that orginazation.
The Village has recieved the State Aid to the Police Department in the amount
of $2389.95.
The Clerk reported that all Quit Claim Deeds for Maple Street are in and signed
also, the Deeds for the two lots for the cross street are here.
Mr. Jaworski reported that Mr. Backlin had run into a problem on 77th Street with
the power poles. The poles will have to be moved and some trees removed. Mr.
Zelinka moved to have the Attorney check into any problems we might have in
connection with this street. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
Mr. Bohjanen asked Mr. Alan Robinson for an explanation of the building on his
sod farm located on Main Street.
Mr. Robinson said the building was put up for agricultural purposes only. This
is an office and shop in connection with his sod business. At the present time
he is selling snowmoblies, but this is a temporary thing and is only done as a
hobby. He felt that by this time next year he would probably be out of the
business of selling snowmobiles. He repeated that the building was erected
primarily for agricultural purposes.
Mr. Marier said the intent was fine but the fact that he is selling snowmobiles
out of the building makes him in violation of the Ordinance. Mr. Marier moved
that Mr. Robinson appear before the P &Z for a special use permit. In the interum
period he should apply for a building permit. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried.
Mr. Robinson said as for the sign, he will pay for the sign permit providing
it is billed to him. The last two years the sign permit has been billed to
Lino Lakes Marine and it should be billed to Lino Lakes Snowmobile. The Clerk
will correct this. The Clerk was instructed to put Mr. Robinson on the
November 21, 1973 P &Z agenda.
Mr. Letendre.appeared before the Council to answer questions on the operations
at the Skyline Auto Body location. He explained that part of the building is
leased to Able Systems. They bring in steel beams, cut them to measurements,
do some welding, paint them and then the materials are sent to the building
site. There is no fire or smoke in connection with the operation and there is
less noise than that created by the body shop operation.
Mr. Marier felt there was two problems here. 1) The special Zoning granted was
for a body shop operation and now part has been leased to Able Systems for
fabrication of steel buildings. 2) The requirements of screening set forth in
the original permit has not been done.
Mr. LeTendre said the screening and fencing has not been done because they did
not have the funds to do it with. They had installed 881' of fencing just this
day.
There was discussion on the zoning of the land. Mr. LeTendre thought that when
they bought the land that the entire parcels was zoned commercial. The Council
felt that only the front 300' was zoned as such. Mr. LeTendre said he would
check into this. Mr. LeTendre asked what the next step was for them.
Mr. Bohjanen said they will have to appear before the P &Z for a special use
permit.
