238 <br />January 14, 1974 <br />The Council had received a bid for towing for the City from Carl Byron, 6325 Ware <br />Road. Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. <br />Mr. Jaworski questioned the fact that Mr. Byron is conducting a commercial enter- <br />prise from a residential district. Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. Al Ross of the audience <br />if he had any knowledge in connection with this problem. <br />Mr. Ross replied that as far as he knew he just runs his truck out of his home. He <br />does not store impounded cars there. <br />Mr. Marier withdrew his motion for further investigation of this matter. Mr. Marier <br />suggested that this be tabled until the next meeting and ask the Police Department <br />to check this out. The Council would require a letter of intent as to the storage <br />of impounded cars and also proof of the necessary insurance. <br />Mr. Jaworski was concerned over the operation of this type of business out of his <br />home. Mr. Locher will research. <br />Mayor Bohjanen announced a Seminar on Wednesday, January 23, 1974, on weeds which <br />will be attending. <br />The Clerk had received a request for use of the Hall on January 21, 1974 by the <br />Pinto association for their annual meeting. Mr. Zelinka moved to allow this useage. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski requested the use of the small conference room on the 3rd. Monday of <br />each month for DFL meetings. Mr. Jaworski moved to approve this request. Seconded <br />by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski had no road report. <br />Mr. Marier had no report. <br />Mr. Zelinka asked the Council to pass a Resolution thanking Mr. Cardinal for his <br />years of service and effort on behalf of the Village. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Motion carried unanimously. All retiring members of Boards should receive letters <br />of "Thanks ". <br />Mr. Zelinka reported that within the next ten days he will convene the Personnel <br />Commission to begin the process for hiring a Public Utilites Supervisor Trainee. <br />He so moved. Mr. Marier seconded. Motion carried unanimously. <br />He will also convene the Commission to consider salary matters. He would like an <br />imput from the Council members prior to the meeting. If any members has ideas per- <br />taining to the salaries, would they please get them to him as soon as possible. <br />Mr. Zelinka asked Mr. Myhre if he could have a recommendation for the hiring of a <br />Patrolman ready within ten days and Mr. Myhre said he could. This will also be <br />considered at that meeting. <br />Mr. Locher said that Mr. Byron cannot park his tow truck outside -- it must be in <br />a garage - also this type of operation is not permitted in a residential area. <br />Under the Fire Ordinance, combustable materials can only be stored in a metal con- <br />tainer, but the City Ordinance deals with liquids. He will check with the State <br />for regulations pertaining to the storage of paper. <br />Mr. Locher reported that he had met with Mr. Parta and the County Board will meet <br />
