February 11, 1974 <br />Mr. Zelinka feels that getting more people out to vote is important. He also agreed <br />with the comment on local issuses for odd years. <br />Mr. Marier said the intent here is that a local election has to be the primary <br />intrest. He motioned to adopt Schedule Four, Odd Years. Mr. McLean seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. Opposed Mr. Zelinka and Mayor Bohjanen. <br />No Clerks report because Mrs. Sarner was not able to attend. She will have the <br />report for the next regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Bohjanen opened the sealed bids for the Patrol Car. The two bids received <br />were; 1.) Barnett Chrysler Plymouth at the price $3947.15. 2.) Midway Ford at <br />the price $4147.00. <br />Mr. Zelinka reading the bid from Barnett Chrysler Plymouth said the word except <br />is in error. It should be accept. <br />From the audience; Mr. Van Buren from Barnett Chrysler Plymouth said his office <br />girl made a mistake and he would initial it as corrected. <br />Mr. Marier said that before we svote on this how are -we doing with the present <br />car from Chrysler Plymouth. Wasn't there trouble with the rear end? Also hadn't <br />it been in for repair three times. <br />Mr. Myhre said the car runs fine except for a noise in the rear end. We were <br />told in a letter from Mr. M. A. Peterson, District Manager of Chrysler Motors Corp. <br />to drive it another 30,000 miles. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said to delay the bids for the next meeting. That will give the <br />Clerk time to find the letter from Mr. M. A. Peterson stating the 30,000 mile <br />warrenty on the rear end of the present Plymouth. <br />Mr. Zelinka said that we cannot ignore the bids legally we have to pass on them. <br />Mr. Bohjanen motioned to table the bids for study. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion <br />carried. With Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />Mr. Jaworski motioned to take sealed bids on the 1966 Plymouth police car, minus <br />the police equipment. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen read a letter of resignation from Mr. Albert Thiltgen. He is unable <br />to preform his duties on the Personnel Commission. <br />Mr. McLean moved that Albert Thiltgen resignation be accepted. Seconded by Mr. <br />Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Mr. Thiltgen thanking him for his <br />services. <br />Mayor Bohjanen also would like to appoint Mr. James Livingston to the Personnel <br />Commission for a One year term. Mr. Zelinka so moved. Seconded by Mayor Bohjanen. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Copies were given to the Council Members on the Condemnation Land Hearing scheduled <br />for March 1, 1974 at 9:30 a.m. <br />Mr. McLean made a motion for another Council meeting prior to the special meeting <br />
