2 <br />March 25, 1974 <br />Mr. Zelinka said the motion was to approve the list for a 5% raise. <br />Mr. Jaworski agreed but he felt that the Council should approve Personnel <br />Commission's recomendation as to leaving certain salaries as is. Mr. Jaworski <br />so moved. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski asked if there were any further reports on the Bruder case. He <br />said there are at least two other places that were just as bad - the house on <br />Lake Drive where the barn burned and the Ford place on Hodgson Road. <br />Mr. Zelinka said some of the residences look almost as bad. <br />Mr. Myhre said Mr. Ford had been issued a warning ticket. <br />Under new business, Mr. Bohjanen asked if there were any questions from the <br />audience. He asked that the Open Space not be discussed at this time since the <br />Council does not have the latest information. <br />Mrs. Hal Liebel Jr. wanted to know who was going to take care of the damage done <br />by the horses that had broken out of the Birchwood Hills stables last week. <br />Mr. Locher has written a letter to the Attorney for the owners and she can get his <br />name and address from the Clerk. <br />Mr. Marier questioned requisition #399. He asked if the City had a walkie- <br />Talkie at the present time; how many do we have and when was the last one <br />purchased; and is this the total cost? <br />Mr. Myhre said the cost listed on the requisition is the total cost - the last <br />one purchased was about 4 years ago and the County has gone to a different <br />transmitting system and this one will not operate and cannot be converted. <br />Mr. Marier asked who he had contacted about converting the unit? Mr. Myhre said <br />the people who had set up the County system. Mr. Marier said he would prefer to <br />see if this unit can be converted and the cost of converting. He will check <br />this out. <br />Mr. Zelinka suggested that Mr. Myhre get a letter from the County stating why <br />this unit cannot be converted. <br />Mr. Marier questioned requisition #403 for 12 dozen typewritter ribbons. He <br />wasn't questioning the number of ribbons on order - just would these ribbons <br />remain in useable condition for the lenght of time they would be stored. The <br />Clerk will call IBM and check this out. <br />Mr. McLean questioned the requisition for steel radial tires for the Police <br />Department. What are we replacing and what kind of mileage? <br />Mr. Zelinka said the present tires are glass belts and there is something like <br />30,000 miles on them. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve requisitions #395 through #405, holding #'s 399 and <br />403 for clairfication.
