28(
May 9, 1974
and advertising for bids - probably 1 year for construction to begin and it will
take about 9 months to install.
Mr. Gotwald said they are all ready to go. Mr. Carley said that they are prepared
to hold the public hearing in Centerville.
Mr. Jaworski asked what happens if the sewage truck breaks down? It is not the
responsibility of Lino Lakes to haul sewage. He felt that this truck is an
extension of the Metro Sewer and that we are merely assisting them with this pro-
blem.
Mr. Zelinka felt that a lot of judgements are made concering the residents of Lino
Lakes and Centerville without the people who make these decisions even coming out
to this area and talking to them. He felt that these people should be consulted and
that the problems of the developers should be discussed with them.
Mr. Bohjanen asked Mr. Lombardi if he had any comments to make.
Mr. Lombardi apoligized for being late, he had attended another meeting. He felt
that Mr. Burandt was in no position to tell the Council anything. He felt that the
people who are making the decisions should be contacted and pressure brought on
them and the sooner the better. Mr. Lombardi felt that the main concern of this
area is that Anoka has the right of condemnation without Council approval. This
gives them a free hand to acquire lands for Open space with no one to stop them.
This law should be repealed as soon as possible. He felt that the Metro Council
views Anoka County as one big park.
Mr. Glenn Rehbein asked whay the double talk? He wants to put the lines in the
Shenandoah and have the sewage hauled as in country Lakes. Why can't he be treated
the same as they are. His project was started on the assurance that the interceptor
was to be installed last year He had spent this day working at one of the homes
where the sewage had backed up. The carpet, wall board and woodwork on the lower
level must be replaced.
Mr. Jaworski asked the lowest point of the line if a full gravity system is
installed.
Mr. Gotwald said the line would be 22 feet deep at the lowest point, but has an
average depth of about 15 feet.
Mr. Burandt said that he had done all he could to move the project along. His
report is being reviewed by Staff. This is in line with the Council policy. It will
then come before the full Council for approval. This decision will be presented to
the Lino Lakes Council and they will bb given two weeks for review and suggestions
and then will appear before the Metro Council again.
There was discussion as to when this could be done. It was suggested that the
Council request a meeting with the Metro Council immediately in order to speed
this process along.
Mr. Rehbein asked for permission to install the lines in the Shenandoah project.
1
1
1
