the amount of $400 if we would like to sell it. Mr. Jaworski noted that we <br />had asked $1000 earlier from Circle Pines for the truck, plow and wing. After <br />discussion, Mr. Jaworski moved to run ads in 3 or 4 papers advertising for <br />bids on the truck, plow and wing, as is, with bids to be taken until the end <br />of the month. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that the paint was peeling on the Village entrance <br />signs, and that the population figures sbuld be changed.to the 1970 census <br />figures. Mr. Bohjanen stated that he has a man ready to look at the signs <br />for painting. Mr. L'Allier suggested that we write the State asking them to <br />put the new population figures on their Village signs. <br />Mr. Bohjanen inquired whether the Planner had submitted a bill yet, and was <br />told yes, that one was in with the bills to be audited. Mr. Bohjanen request - <br />ed that the Planner, Engineer and Attorney be advised to submit their final <br />billings for the year for payment before the end of the year, and that all <br />other outstanding bills, such as for work projects, be paid before January <br />1st in order to have a better financial picture. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that the name of Julia Faymoville had been suggested to <br />him-as a candidate for Citizen of the Year, and that he wished to nominate <br />her for that title as she is deserving of it. The matter will be put on the <br />agenda for the next Council meeting. Mr. Bohjanen asked if we had heard any- <br />thing yet from the County on• fixing the intersections; Mr. Rosengren stated <br />that we had not, but that Roy Backlin will take care of any holes where our <br />streets abut County highways. <br />Dom. L'Allier stated that he had a request from our CD Director, Charles Cape, <br />who had submitted a list of names for promotion. Mr. L'Allier moved that the . <br />Council authorize the promotion of the following CD Auxiliary members as <br />follows: Beatrice Kramer to Major; Janet Jones to Captain; Gladys Broker to <br />Lieutenant; Ruth Rector to Lieutenant; Margaret Mitchell to Sergeant; Gloria <br />Beecher to Sergeant. Seconded,by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that a.hearing was coming up on a motion by North Central <br />Public Service Co. for a temporary injunction against Circle Pines Utilities <br />serving Molin Concrete Products with natural gas. He noted some of the past <br />history of the case, and asked the Clerk to make copies of the hearing notice <br />for all members. Mr. L'Allier asked the Council whether they wished to make <br />a similar request for a temporary injunction and if they wished to do so at <br />the same time. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved to authorize the Attorney to draw up papers for proceeding <br />with a temporary injunction against Circle Pines Utilities Co. Mr. Bohjanen <br />asked if it was better from a legal standpoint to have us back this (North <br />Central's) motion•or make our own. Mr. L'Allier felt that it was better if <br />we make our own, but noted that the.judge might not like to hear.the same <br />thing twice and might hear both motions simultaneously. Mr. L'Allier added <br />a stipulation to the motion, that the decision to go alone or join with <br />North Central Public Service Co. would depend on the Attorney's opinion. <br />There was some discussion. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. The motion <br />carried with Mr. Rosengren voting No. <br />Clyde Rehbein stated that they couldn't get a commitment from North Central <br />as to serving his new plat with natural gas, that he had been told they did- <br />n't have enought gas, etc. Mr. L'Allier stated that unless they receive a <br />formal rejection of service by letter the Council can't do anything. There <br />was discussion. <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that the policing contract for Centerville had not yet <br />been reviewed by Centerville as their Mayor has been out of town. <br />
