Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Jaworski moved to make the official newspaper the Forest Lake Times. Sec-
onded by Mr. Cardinal. Letters from the Forest Lake Times, the Blaine Life, and
the Circulating Pines were read. Mrs. Swanson inquired about circulation. Mr.
Sam Calusen stated that the $laine Life had a circulation of 250 subscriptions
plus sales at various places in Lino Lakes. Duane Rasmussen stated that it was
difficult to pin down the circulation of the Times in Lino Lakes due to the
various postal routes; he thought they had 100 circulation mailed directly to
Lino Lakes plus others mailed through the Circle Pines and Forest Lake post
offices; he noted that they were more to the East than the Blaine Life.
Mr. Marier asked Mr. Jaworski for his reason in nominating the Forest Lake Times.
Mr. Jaworski stated he wanted them because we had them before and they do a
good job. Mr. Bohjanen noted that the Blaine Life is a county paper and gives
good coverage of what goes on in the county. Mrs. Swanson felt that coverage
was the main factor in this case. She personally commended the Blaine Life for
covering their fight for the Village during the spring and summer session of the
Legislature, and the Forest Lake paper for coming through.
Vote on the motion: Swanson - -No; Marier--No; Jaworski—Aye; Cardinal—Aye;
Bohjanen - -No. Motion failed.
Mr. Marier moved to accept as the official paper for Lino Lakes the Blaine Life.
Seconded by Mrs. Swanson.
