As
to the Planning and Zoning Board members, that they all receive a full copy of
all the ordinances. He asked the Clerk if the old members had had ordinance
books; she stated that they had old ordinance books; she asked if they would be
required to turn these books in; Mr. Bohjanen felt that they should.
Mr. Bohjanen felt that all members of the Council should have a copy of the
League Handbook, as well as one for the office; he wished to order enough,
probably 4, depending on whether the former Mayor had a copy belonging to the
Village, at a cost of $7.50 a piece (unless the price had gone up), for a total
cost of less than $50.00. Mr. Jaworski moved to authorize the purchase, of-i5
copies of the latest edition of the League Handbook plus any necessary revision
pages to bring our copies up to date. Presincts were discussed with Mr. Locher noting
that we had 1 by law. He listed reasons for and disadvantages of creating more.
Mr. Bohjanen felt we could study this later; Mr. Locher noted that if we desired
a change it muet be done at least 90 days before the election.
Mr. Bohjanen said we had gotten an answer back on the extra help for ditch -
cleaning, namely an agreement to save harmless the County on claims for any
damage except those covered under the Workman's Compensation. Mr. Locher read
the agreement and suggested that a copy of the agreement be mailed to our
insurance agent to get a written letter saying that this would be covered.
After discussion, Mr. Marier moved to authorize sending a letter to the agent
for clearance and to authorize signing the form when clearance is received.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Mrs. Swanson commented
on seminars required by the State. Mr. Locher felt that this was through the
State Bldg. Committee, that this might be a requirement for certification for
building inspectors. Mr. Dupre stated that he earned $S/hour; the cost of the
course was $35.00. Mr. Marier moved to send the Building Inspector to school,
and that he use his own judgement on whether he would have been working on
those days or not, and to pay him for his time if necessary.
