166
1/27/27
trolling signs.
The Clerk asked about disposition of the sign permit application made by Eugene
Jerdee at the time his special use permit was granted. After discussion, it
was decided that no permit is needed for a sign whose area was up to and inclu-
ding 6 sq. ft. The Clerk will refund Mr. Jerdee's $5.00 fee.
Mr. Jaworski moved to approve renewing the kennel license for William Morrison.
Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried unanimously. Mr. Cardinal moved, on the Clerk's
request, to raise the amount in the Petty Cash Fund to $50.00. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Carried unanimously.
The Clerk asked for direction on handling the $100 for an off -sale liquor li-
cense which had been received from Lee C. Smith two years ago as no license
had ever been isti,1od and there was no place of business constructed. Mr. Bohjanen
stated that he had been advised by the Attorney to hold this money against the
$565 still outstanding for special use permit and rezoning fees. Mr. Locher
has written again to Mr. Smith to try to collect this money.
The Clerk stated that she had received $4500 so far in sewer hookup fees from
Chomonix and had invested the total amount in 90-day 5% savings certificates.
This met with approval.
The Clerk broached the idea of paying the Building Inspector in the same manner
as the Plumbing Inspector, namely that he would be paid after turning in the
permits which have passed inspection. Mr. Dupre said he could do it this way.
Mr. Bohjanan wished to have this made a matter of procedure.
The Clerk stated that Henry Rosengren had just given her duplicate application
and bonds for an off sale liquor license. These were set aside for Mr. Locher
to inspect when he returned to his chair. Mr. Marier asked if there was a limit
of off -sale liquor licenses in the Village; he was informed there was no limit; we
have two now.
The Clerk mentioned that Roy Backlin had expressed a wish for a small file cab -
ireit for his office to keep vehicle maintenance records in. As she has a two
drawer file in her office which has no lock, and thus little use, she suggested
putting this file in the shop office and purchasing an 8' table for her office,
which had been included in the budget. Members looked at the catalogue dis-
cription. Mr. Cardinal moved to purchase a table for the Clerk's office from
Superior Products at a cost of $37 plus shipping. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski.
Carried. Mrs. Swanson suggested that some sort of shelving could be used both
in the Clerk's office and shop office. She noted that no closets had been
built in and the janitor's supplies are kept on the floor or in a box. Mr.
Cardinal stated that steel shelving had been discussed, but never purchased.
It was decided to have Mr. Backlin and the janitor look into the matter.
Mrs. Swanson inquired if there was any ordinance in regards to where off -sale
liquor stores can be located in the same area. Mr. Bohjanen stated there was
nothing in our ordinances regarding this.
Mr. Cardinal reported that the first Park Board meeting was introductory. The
rinks had been cleaned off after the snowfall and everything seems to be in
fair skating condition. He noted that the incident involving a boy who had
teeth broken by a hockey puck involved no liability on our part since there was
no scheduled game or negligence on our part. Mr. Marier felt that a letter
should be sent to Mrs. Kineade explaining this; the Clerk stated that she had
spoken to her already, and Mrs. Kineade had understood and wasonly interested
in whether we had the kind of insurance which would pay.
