Mr. Bohjanen noted that she was going on vacation in June <br />from the 12thio the 16th. <br />Mr. Cardinal stated we should give the Clerk the two extra days off - she <br />deserves them. Mr. Marier and Mrs. Swanson both asked if this was in the budget. <br />Mr. Cardinal said Yes. Mr. Marier noted that Ord. 43A gave no vacation time <br />for the first year; he thought we were being lenient for allowing the week in <br />June. Mr. Marier thought the Clerk should negotiate this with Mrs. Swanson as <br />it is an additional expense. <br />Mrs. Swanson asked ,':hat would be required while the Clerk is gone? Would there <br />be any minutes to write up? The Clerk stated there Nould be no meeting at that <br />time. Mrs. Swanson asked if the Council wanted her to determine .hat the Clerk <br />is to do before she goes. Mr. Marier said she should work that out with her. <br />Mr. Marier moved that if it is alright with the Liaison to the business office, <br />if she sees fit to give her time off, she sbuld give her time off with no pay. <br />Seconded by Mrs. Swanson. Mr. Marier noted it was arbitrary of the Clerk to <br />decide to take thoses two days off; we must negotiate when she can take off. <br />Vote on the motion: Aye -- Marier, Swanson & Bohjanen; No-- Cardinal & Jaworski. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen called the hearing for the A.A. Johnson Tool Co. building plans <br />to order at 9 :34 p.m. Mr. Locher stated that he doesn't need rezoning since <br />he is in a commercial area. <br />Mr. Marier stated that the plans on expanding and making the parking lot area, <br />and the paperswere in order. The F&7 had had a question on screening along <br />Aqua Lane. If trees were placed it would cause a snow problem. He suggested <br />a low hedge. <br />Mr. Marier moved to accept the plans for A. A. Johnson Tool Co. building addi- <br />tion. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. Mr. Marier noted that <br />the plans were on file. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to adjourn the hearing at 9:37 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Marier noted that Skelly Oil wanted to add an additional sign which says <br />"Food" on their sign. At present there is no advertising for the food. The <br />"food" sign would be on the bottom of the present sign with lights from the <br />bottom. This was okayed by the P &7. Mr. Marier noted that the code allows <br />67 -foot signs. <br />Mr. Marier moved to allow a variance on this extra sign saying"Food" on the <br />present sign. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. It was noted that the sign would be a <br />1 -pole sign with a second sign saying "Food" beneath the Skelly sign. Mrs. <br />Swanson noted that the restaurant was closed. The company representative thought <br />the extra sign might help. The vote was unanimously in favor. <br />Mr. Cardinal reported that there had not been a Park Board meeting this month. <br />Mr. Cardinal had received a request from the Peachland League to use the soft- <br />ball diamonds on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr. Jaworski had informed him that <br />this league had been in existence for years and they had had no conflict before. <br />Mx.
