Mr. Marier informed the Clerk that he <br />wished the quarterly payroll report to include amounts paid to all persons we <br />employ such as the Attorney and Engineer. <br />Mr. Cardinal reported that the Parks Dept. has been repairing the hockey fences <br />and have bought paint so that the painting can begin soon. He felt the Council <br />should consider enlarging the warming house to double its size. He had checked <br />on doors for the warming house as requested, but felt we should hold on this <br />until we decide on enlarging the house, and so both jobs at the same time. <br />Mr. Cardinal said he would meet with Roy and mark off where the new ball dia- <br />monds will be built. The diamond which will be at the Hall will go where we <br />have been taking dirt since last fall. Mr. Marier asked who would do the grading; <br />Mr. Cardinal felt that Columbus might. Mrs. Swanson said that she remembered <br />Mr. Jaworski mentioning a cost of $2500 for the grading, and wondered if we <br />would get involved in that amount of money. Mr. Cardinal suggested having the <br />Engineer get an estimate. Mrs. Swanson wanted Mr. Cardinal to get a couple of <br />bids on the project. <br />Mr. Marier reported that the P &Z had come up with a proposal on the minimum <br />requirements for dwelling units in order to amend Ord. No. 56. Mr Marier read <br />the proposals as follows: <br />Single Family Dwellings <br />A. I story - 1000 sq. ft. Split entry - 1000 sq. ft. <br />IZ story - 1000 sq. ft. 2 story 850 sq. ft. <br />split level - 1000 sq. ft. <br />B. In regard to basementless homes an additional minimum area of 100 sq. ft. <br />to house utilities will be required. <br />C. Minimum of 100 sq. ft. liveable areas except baths, kitchens or utility <br />rooms. <br />D. Minimum ceiling height on main floor of 8 ft. and all other floors 7 2 ft. <br />E. Square footage minimums will apply to the basic outline dimensions of the <br />building, and square footage credits are not allowed for living areas <br />on different levels. <br />Apartments Townhouses, Condominiums & Quadrominiums <br />Efficiency - 680 sq. ft. 2 bedroom - 1180 sq. ft. <br />I bedroom - 800 sq. ft. 3 bedroom 1300 <br />2 bedroom - 920 4 bedroom - 1420 <br />3 bedroom - 1040 Planned Unit Development <br />4 bedroom - 1160 Efficiency & I bedroom - 700 sq. ft. <br />There was considerable discussion on this. Clyde Rehbein displayed the new <br />brochures advertising his various house styles in the Shenandoah project, and <br />made several comments: <br />1. Two houses shown in his brochure are under the 1000 sq. ft. minimum, at <br />934 and 960 sq. ft. <br />2. He understood that the Village wished to raise the tax base by increasing <br />the minimum sizes, but that minimum size doesn't guarantee the value, and <br />he could build a 1400 sq. ft. shack if he used cheap materials. <br />3. Most other places require a 90 sq. ft. minimum on liveable areas; this is <br />the figure in the new State Code. <br />4. They planned to have an open house for the Council and the P &Z soon, and <br />would appreciate it if members looked at their homes before adopting this. <br />5. They include a 2 -car attached garage, carpeting, black -top driveway and a <br />sodded yard with all their homes, all of these items except the sod adding <br />to the tax base. They only deduct $2000 from the selling price if a <br />person doesn't want the attached garage. <br />
