6/12/72
Mr. Marier directed to Mr. Cardtnal that he should check on what park areas are in
Chomonix and Shenv- andoah and see when they will develop or put the money away for
future use.
Mr. Cardinal said Cecil LaMotte was going to grade and seed his park area. Mr.
Cardinal moved to send a letter to Mr. LaMotte reminding him to upgrade this park
area. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried.
Mr. Marier mentioned the Comprehensive proposed ordinance as it pertains to our
input as to open spaces. This should be reviewed by the Park Board.
Mr. Jaworski requested two 30 MPH signs to be put up on Peltier and 77th, east of
County Rd. 23. He said he checked and Peltier is going to be rebuilt this summer.
He also requested a "Slow Children at Play" sign for this same area. Mr. Jaworski
moved to get and install these three above - mentioned signs. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
Carried.
Mr. Jaworski reported that the area behind the Hall should be leveled and graded.
There were plans to use this for a little league field, and he said it wouldn't
take much work to get it in shape. It certainly could be done in one working day.
Mr. Jaworski moved to go ahead and have this area leveled and graded. Seconded by
Mr. Marier. Carried.
Mr. Jaworski reported that Mr. Locher had drawn up an agreement between St. Joseph's
Church and the Village to remove trees along the Church's property on Sunrise Avenue.
There is a real problem here in the winter as the snow piles up. Mr. Locher read the
agreement. Mr. Jaworski said this work would mostly be cutting of trees. If there
is any surplus it will be dumped on 2nd St. Mr. Jaworski moved to have the Mayor and
Clerk sign this agreement. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Carried. A copy of this
should be sent to Father Wirth.
Two bids were received on gravel:
Arsenal Sand and Gravel -- $2.85 /ton or $3.85/cu. yd.
Richard F. Schuh -- $2.45/cu. yd.
Mr. Jaworski moved to accept Schuh's bid. Seconded byMr. Cardinal. Carried.
Two bids were received for seal coating roads:
Bituminous Roadways -- $18,563
T. A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. -- $17,040
Schifsky also included the price per gallon in their bid. This would be helpful
for later fill -in work. The consensus was that buck shot ought to be used, and
this would bring the low bid up to approximately $18,040. This is enough to take
care of the Lakeview area, Bald Eagle Blvd. Linda & Laurene, Oak Lane, Rolling Hills
Dr. and Ware Rd. It was noted that if the Village is billed directly from the oil
company we can save about $125.00 on sales tax.
Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the Schifsky bid using buck shot sand with the oil bill
going directly to the Vi /lage (approximately $18.040 minus $125.00 sales tax). Seconded
by Mr. Zelinka. Carried.
Mr. Locher noted that the County Surveyor can't find the legal description regarding
the easements on Peltier Dr. and Mrs. Wilhelmy's property. When he finds them then
they can draft the agreement. This definitely will be done before too long.
Mr. Jaworski said he would like to coordinate the work on Peltier with that on
Sunrise. A couple of elm trees on Peltier must be disposed of in accordance with
State laws and will cost a little more.
Mr. Marier asked Mr. Jaworski what is being done to put chloride on 80th St.
