The P &Z had recommended granting a variance on
Parcel A. Marier moved to grant Floyd Miller a varianct to Ord. 21A on the following
Parcel A, described as: That part of the Northwest Quarter (NWµ) of the Southwest
Quarter (SWµ) of Section 3, Town 31, Range 22, Anoka County, Minnesota described as
Follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of said NWµ of SWµ', thence south along
the west line of said NWµ of SWµ, 208.7 feet to the actual point of beginning of tract
to be described; thence continue south 209.0 feet; thence east at a right angle 414.0 feet
thence north at a right angle 209.0 feet; thence west at aright angle 414.0 feet to
the point of beginning. Was to be given by Mr. Miller to his son at no cost,
and that he had requested 120' frontage. The P &Z felt Mr. Miller should comply with
the ordinance and made the parcel 150' in width. Mr. Miller had agreed.
Mr. Marier moved to grant a variance to Ordiance 21A to Floyd Miller on Parcel B,
described as follows:
That part of the Northwest Quarter (NWµ) of the Southwest Quarter, (SWµ)
of section 3, Town 31, Range 22, Anoka County, Minnesota described as
follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of said NWµ of SWµ; thence
south along the west line of said NW4 of SWµ, 417.7 feet to the actual
point of beginning of tract to be described; thence contineu south
150.0 feet; thence east at a right angle 414.0 feet; thence north at a
right angle 150.0 feet; thence west at a right angle 414.0 feet to the
point of beginning. Mr. Miller noted that the drawings members
had were only preliminary drafts, and that the final survey copies would be sent
to the office when completed.
Mr. Marier reported that Forrest Tagg's request of varying the sign code had been
put off to the Next P &Z meeting. It was noted that this might be a hardship case.
The Skelly 100' sign was denied. Mr. Jaworski asked if they are going to review
that with Mr. Tagg; Mr. Marier said No, and mentioned that the 100' signs would
hardly enhance the Village. Also, if we did give Tagg a 100' sign, Skelly would
comeback for one.
Mr. Marier moved to deny the Skelly Oil request for a 100' sign. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. The Mayor noted that some pine trees along the freeway had been cut
down. Vote: Jaworski, No; Marier, Yes, Zelinka, No; Bohjanen, No. Motion failed.
Mr. Jaworski moved, at the Mayor's request, to send the Skelly sign request back to
the P &Z for study in conjunction with the Tagg sign. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka.
Carried.
Walter A. Gessler, Jr. age 10, requested the Council's permission to raise two hogs
to sell. He had obtained written approval from six neighbors to raise the pigs on
his parent's 6 acre lot at 2002 Main Street. After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka
moved that we allow Walter Gessler, Jr., to have two hogs, to be grain fed, and to
waive the requirements of a variance to Section 4.08 of Ord. No. 56 in this case.
Seconded by Mr.Jaworski. Carried. The permission slips will be kept on file.
Ken Rehbein noted that it was too bad that the Council can't move as ,fast on
other matters.
