292
6/26/72
The Clerk was asked to call Mr. Boyd to issue a red tag to Mr. Krueger. Mr. Bohjanen
commented that the area the house is in looks like it needs a perc test as recommended
by the plumbing inspector.
Mr. Bohjanen said he wanted to recommend to the Clerk that anything we do not finish
acting on should appear on succeeding agendas until it is acted on, noting that this
will make the agenda longer, but it is necessary to remind members of such matters;
for instance the snowmobile ordinance, which is to come un August. Members disagreed,
feeling that this would make the agenda too long, and that a tickle file would suffice.
Mr. Bohjanen asked if everyonw got copies of the Metro reports and was told Yes by old
members. Clerk said she would cease making copies of such correspondence for members.
Mr. Bohjanen read three notices of Metro Council meetings coming up, noting that he
would like members to attend these if they are available. Mr. Zelinka's name will be
given to Metro Council offices so he can receive this material also.
The Mayor had received a questionaire from the U Of M Agricultural Extension Service,
Anoka County Dept., regarding ordinances on shad trees and their diseases. Clerk
read each question: all answers were "NO'. This will be typed up and sent in.
The Metro Sewer Board west Regulations were on the agenda again, having been tabled
several times. There was considerable discussion on this, with it being suggested that the
Engineer give us a report on it, that Mr. Robbins come out and explain it as he suggested
in his cover letter, that we write a letter to the Metro Sewer Board that we are willing
to adopt any regulations at such time as we have sewage disposal facilities.
Mr. Locher stated that this seems similar to the highway rules, that it is State law
and whether we adopt it or not is immaterial. He thought it would be wise to get
someone out to discuss this with us. The Clerk was asked to call Mr. Gotwald on this
and have him report at the next meeting.
Clerk asked if the Council wished her to list specific items under each official on
which they had been asked to report and was told No.
1
1
Mr. Bohjanen noted that we have talked a lot about having meetings with the Jandric
people on such items as meters, bookkeeping, etc. and suggested that we have a special
meeting on all of these items connected with taking over the Jandric systems so that we
will be ready when we do take them over. We will also get a complete cost breakdwon from
the engineer. He suggested having the Engineer, Attorney, Fiscal Agent and Plumbing Inspector
at such a meeting.
It was noted that the Engineer could give us the specifics of the completion of the systems
at the next meeting. Mr. Jaworski noted that the sewer was almost done. Mr. Marier asked if the
roads were done; Mr. Jaworski said that the roads are not the contractor's (Rehbein's)
responsibility, but that the work on them was under a separate bond held for Jandric. Mr.
Marier stated that the roads must be done to see if the sewer will stand up under the
activity required to get them completed; this must be done before we accept the system.
Mr. Marier felt we could give acceptance of the lay -out of the system, but not accept the
total system; it might cave in under the road construction, and if so, would be contractor's
responsibility to fix. Mr. Jaworski didn't know if we could do this legally. Mr. Locher
stated that the sewer construction was subject to the Engineer's approval as to whether
the contractor complied with the specifics; it is entirely his responsibility.
Mr. Bohjanen said we would wait for the Engineer's report first and then set up a
special meeting later.
