Mr. Locher said it must have the
signatures representing 35% of the front footage.
Mr. Zelinka asked Mrs. Wood if she knew what percentage of front footage was re-
presented on this petition and she said all but three (3) families, well over
35 %.
Mayor Bohjanen asked the Clerk to read the names of the list. Mr. Locher said
it must be determined what percentage of the front footage is represented by this
list - it must be 35% of the total frontage.
Mr. Zelinka moved to have Mr. Locher determine if the petition is in proper order,
have the Engineer determine if this represents 35% of the front footage, if so
notify the MWCC of the interest before final decision on the route of the inter-
ceptor is made. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schneider said the last he had heard the matter of hooking into the Shoreview
interceptor was about 90% complete.
Mr. Zelinka said he understood the capacity for the Shoreview route would handle
between 800 and 900,: homes; the route to Lexington Avenue about 1300 to 1400 homes.
Mr. Schneider reported on the Park, Recreational and Enviornmental Commission
meeting held on February 16, 1976. There had been general discussion on the allow-
ing of soft ball tournaments to be held in Sunrise Park. There was a suggested
form for application. The main concern of the Commission was the selling and
consumption of 3.2% beer at these tournaments. Ordinance #6I bans this practice
except in designated picnic areas. Mr. Schneider questioned Mr. Locher on this
Section of the Ordinance.
Mr. Locher said the Council could designate certain areas for this and couid
also limit the time.
Mr. McLean said this had been done last Fall when a proposed tournament had been
approved. The tournament eventually had been cancelled. The Park Board had felt
they could operate under Sec. 19.
Mr. Schneider reported that members of the Park Board had been appointed to be
responsible for certain Parks, but all members are to make a priorty list. These
ideas will be discussed at the next meeting so the planned work for this coming
year can be organized.
There had also been discussion of the bike trail system. Mr. Ringaman will do
some checking on the planned system with the Anoka County Park Board.
