February 23,1976
Mr. Anderson had brought a corner stone with him to show the Council members.
He said the marking of Lino Lakes is progressing. Last Fall 125 of the 134
corner markers in Lino Lakes was in place - now 129 have been placed. This
rapid progress is due in part to the acquisiton of the Park Lands by Anoka
County.
Mr. Zelinka asked if the more detailed maps of the area were available? Mr.
Anderson said he had some maps for the Council members. He also had copies
of the new Anoka County maps and a clew of the State Highway maps for 1976.
He left some of the County maps for distribution by the Clerk. Mr. Anderson
said the only thing left to do in Lino Lakes is to set in the remaining few
corner markers.
Mr. Anderson said his office will also be platting County Road #14 through
Lino Lakes to Centerville. This will provide a better description for Attorn-
ies when seeking legal descriptions.
Mr. Karth asked if this will make the Highway wider? He had noticed one of
the curves on this street had been made less sharp. Mr. Anderson said he
didn't know about the widening of the highway, but, Yes, they will be chang-
ing the sharper curves.
Mr. McLean asked if this would be a 120' right - of - way? Mr. Anderson
said the County has been asking for a 120' right - of - way. This is nec-
essary to provide the proper grade to the ditches for proper drainage.
Some places the right - of - way width has been 150' due to soil conditions
on the ditch slopes.
Mayor Bohjanen asked if Old Highway #8 was also included in this study and
Mr. Anderson said, Yes.
Mr. McLean asked if there were any plans for making County Road #14 a four
lane highway through Lino Lakes?
Mr. Anderson said he didn't know. His office is just setting up the bound-
aries for the highways. He has nothing to do with the construction of the
highway. Mr. Anderson showed the Council an aerial photo of Moore Lake -
one dated 1938 and one dated 1968 showing the growth in the past 30 years.
Mr. Locher had checked the purchase agreement with Anoka County on the parcel
of land for the Park and had some changes that should be made on the agree-
ment. He had talked with Mr. Torkildson, but suggested that Mr. Kordiak and
Mr McGinley should initial concurring with the changes.
Mr. Locher reported he has the deeds for the balance of the roadway connect-
ing Hansen's Road with County Road #84.
Mr. Zelinka moved to accept the deed to the roadway. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Motion carried unanimou$iy.
Mr. Locher reported Mrs. LeTourneau had provided a copy of a deed but it
was not signed, doesn't have the name of the person preparing the document
and it has never been filed. Mr. Locher said he has no idea who prepared the
paper.
The Flood Hazard Insurance application and instruction book had arrived.
