Mr. Edmundson will finalize his
plans and present them at a later date.
Mr. McLean asked Mr. Karth about the work to be done on 77th street and 80th Street.
Mr. Karth said the repair work will begin as soon as the equipment is available
from Schifsky. He felt some time this week.
Mayor Bohjanen asked for ideas on the sewer rates. The only basis now is Ordinance
57A which sets the hook up fees. There was discussion of what the hook up charges
are used for, how they should be computed and who pays the SAC, the buyer or builder.
Mr. Locher had sent some rates used by surrounding communities and these were con-
sulted. A lady from the audience asked about the SAC and she was told this is a
matter between the builder and the buyer but at the present time the charge is
$350.00 and the homes in Shenandoah must pay this before they can hook into the lat-
erals.
After some discussion, Mr. McLean moved to ask Mr. Gotwald for some facts on this
matter by June 14, 1976 so the cost can be computed against the affected units,
in order for the cost to relate to those units. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion
carried unanimously.
A Shenandoah resident asked when they could hook up to the system and Mr. Locher
said the lines are being flushed and check at this time. The problem is the pumps
will not be avilable for six weeks - so it will be at least that long.
Mr. Zelinka was absent so Mr. McLean reported on the last meeting held in conjun-
ction with the power line. He had read and submitted a copy of the Resolution pass-
ed by this Council. He had alsomarked a map with the homes and business that would
be affected by this line and this had been submitted along with a copy of the Com-
prehensive Land Use Plan. There had been presentations by Northern States Power,
White Bear Township and KSTP. This station would need to move a transmitter at the
cost of one million dollars exclusive of land cost. Mr. McLean said the final dec-
ision should be made some time the first part of June.
Mr. Karth reported the old pick up had been checked out by Chief Myhre and he had
found additional safty hazards. After some discussion, Mr. Karth moved to advert-
ise for bids for a pick up per the specifications submitted.
Mr. Schneider said the plan, after the cost figures are obtained, is to purchase
on time with the balance to be paid in December. Mr. McLean asked if it was poss-
ible to purchase in July and Mr. Schneider said it was possible.
Mr. Schneider seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
This advertisement must be in the official paper and be published ten days before
the bids are to opened. The Clerk is to check with Mr. Locher on the proper pro-
cedure.
Mr. Karth reported he had been talking to Mr. Burman on the problems of West Shadow
Lake Drive. He had told Mr. Burman that the citizens on the Street may put up
a gate to bar the golfers if something isn't done to bring that Street up to stand-
ard. Mr. Karth asked if the citizens could legally block this Street and Mr. Locher
felt there could be a problem. The residents had been advised to ask for a rea-
ssessment from the County Assessor's office with the matter of the condition of the
