June 14, 1976
Mr. Schneider asked this list be more specific as to when the jobs will be done and
IIIwhen the bills will be presented for payment.
Mr. Karth said they will finalize the list this weekend and dates will be inserted.
This will be presented at the last meeting in June for approval.
There was general discussion as to what is to be done in what areas and which street
shouFdbe done this year.
Mr. Karth reported on a problem with the section of 4th Avenue from Elm Street North
to the Freeway where the Street dead ends. He had received complaints of dumping,
which can be seen from the Freeway, and the teen age parties being held back in the
area. Since there are no homes located on that stretch of Street, Mr. Karth asked the
Council to consider blocking off that stretch of the Street until such time as there
is need for the Street to be opened.
It was suggested that all property owners be contacted for their approval of this act-
ion in writing and, if obtained, to bury poles across the entry. Mr. Karth so moved.
Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Karth reported the Ford Squad Car had developed a hole in the oil filter and the
engine had frozen. To do the minimum of repairs on this car will cost about $325.00;
to do a complete overhaul will cost approximately $545.00.
Mr. McLean asked how many miles is usually on a squad car before it is disposed of
IIIand Chicbf Myhre said it varies with each car. He felt this car would be retained
until 1977 and the least amount of cost for the repairs would be sufficient.
Mr. Karth moved to approve the minimum repairs and stay as close to the estimate as
possible. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Karth reported the Lino Athletic Association has asked he request the use of the
garage for a dance and for a permit to serve beer and set ups in conjunction with
the fund raising of that orginazation. This has been held at the Aragon Ballroom in
the past. Since there is an on -sale liquor license at that location, it is no longer
possible to hold the dance there.
Mayor Bohjanen felt the matter of set ups has been duscouraged in the past. It will
have to be checked with the Attorney. Mr. Karth said they would like to know by the
end of June since the dance would be held in August and they need time for ticket
sales.
Mr. McLean had no report.
Mr. Schneider reported on his meeting at the MMTC. There will be a forthcoming report
from Mr. Robin. It is felt that it will be sometime next summer before the trans-
ferring of the adult offenders will begin. Mr. Schneider said the Citizens Committee
is being reactivated in order for the community input to be considered in the formation
of this change in the status of this facility. He will have more information on this
at a later date.
IIIMr. Schneider said he had been contacted with concern about the amount of monies
being spent in the Parks and for what. Mr. Volk will attend the next Park Board
meeting and this matter will be discussed.
The youth from the school started today. There aresix people from the Centennial
School and they worked at Sunrise Park today.
