June 14, 1976
Mr. Schneider said the cash flow shows a bank balance at the end of June of $2500.00.
He felt this is a realistic figure depending on emergencies that arise.
Mr. Schneider presented the Council members with copies of some research he had
done in connection with auditing firms. There were three he recommended the Coun-
cil consult. Mr. Schneider suggested these firms be asked to take a look at the
present system and submit a bid for their services. Mr. McLean so moved. Second-
ed by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schneider moved to set a special meeting to consider the bids and interview
the representatives of the auditing firms. This matter should be finalized by
the first meeting in July. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Gotwald reported on the feasibility report for the utilities in the Lexington
Lakeview area. He said the report will be in the hands of the Council members
before the next Council meeting in order to give the members time for study of
the report.
Mr. Gotwald reported the lines are completed in the Shenandoah area and the only
hold up is the installation of the pumps. As soon as these pumps are installed
the residents can hook Into the system.
Mr. Gotwald discussed the requirement of the County of a 150' right -of -way before
they will accept the road for maintenance. In the case of 24th, it might be ad-
vantageous for the City to consider the acquisition of the additional footage.
This could prove to be Tess costly than the repair and maintenance of that street.
Mr. Gotwald suggested getting a firm commitment from the County that, if this
easement is obtained by the City, the County would assume the repair and upkeep
of this street. He also suggested that as part of the zoning Ordinance, that new
construction along this street have a greater set back in order to avoid the pur-
chase of buildings in the acquisition of the right -of -way.
Mr. Karth asked that a letter be written to Mr. Burman asking for a letter from
the Anoka County Board of Commissioners stating the County will accept 24th Ave.
if the City obtains the required right -of -way and that the street will be upgraded.
Mr. McLean asked if this could be presented to the owners as a trade -off - their
giving the right -of -way easement for an up- gradEbd Street? Mr. Gotwald said, Yes.
Mr. Kronholm was in the audience with a question on the installation of a drive-
way to the townhouse units located off East Shadow Lake Drive. Mr. Kronholm said
the Drover's State Bank has assumed the responsibility for all the holdings of Mr.
Jandric in that area. He is asking for permission to install the 20' driveway to
the units.
The Clerk had pulled the minutes in conjunction with the action taken on this matter
in August of 1974. This matter had been handled by granting a variance for the
construction of this driveway with the stipulation this unit can not be sold and
that when the outlot is platted the entry is to be from Lantern Lane. Since the
matter had been handled by a variance, this would carry forward to the new owner
and not action is necessary from this Council.
Mr. Kronholm thanked the Council for their time. He felt things should begin to
clear in that area.
