Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to close the hearing on Colonial Woods at 10:00 P.M. Seconded by <br />Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Dean McGowan, Insurance Agent, presented the Council with more detailed inform- <br />ation on the Errors and Ommission coverage for Council members. The premium for one <br />year is $670.00 with a three year policy available for $1808.00. This insurance <br />covers the Board members against all manner of lawsuits. This would also cover em- <br />ployees acting for Council members. Mr. McGowan also recommended the Council members <br />be covered under Workman's Compensation. <br />In conjunction with this coverage, Mr. McLean asked if a Council member were riding <br />in one of the City Patrol cars, what coverage would he have? <br />Mr. McGowan said, basically none, unless it could be proven the Patrolman had been <br />negligent. <br />Mr. Karth asked if this would have any effect on the present coverage each member <br />might have and Mr. McGowan said, None. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Workman's Compensation for Council members - premium <br />approximately $100.00 per year. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously <br />Mr. McLean moved to lay over for budget consideration the Errors and Ommission cov- <br />erage. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka asked the cost for individuals to purchase this coverage and Mr. McGowan <br />said he would have to research this. <br />Mr. Locher arrived at 10:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Schneider felt this is important and should be considered at this time. Mr. <br />McLean felt he would prefer to see how this will fit into the budget. After some <br />discussion, it was held for discisi_,n at the budget meetings. <br />Mr. McGowan had researched Hospital coverage for the employees. He gave some cost <br />figures and briefly discussed the coverage. Mr. Karth asked if copies could be had <br />for study and Mr. McGowan said he would get copies to the members. <br />Mr. McLean returned to the Planning and Zoning Board recommendations. Mr. Nadeau <br />had presented a preliminary plat for East Birch Addition. This had not been re- <br />viewed by the Planner, Engineer, Rice Creek Watershed Board, County Highway Depart- <br />ment or County Surveyor. The Planning and Zoning had recommended approval of the pre- <br />liminary plat. Mr. McLean questioned the money in lieu of land for parks and Mr. Nad- <br />eau said the money would be paid within 30 days of transfer of title on the lots. <br />This would be 10% of the valuation. <br />Mr. McLean moved to approve the preliminary plat and set a public hearing for the <br />final plat on October 12, 1976 at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mike Johnson had requested a permit for the installation of a 60' CB antenna. He <br />has the approval of the building inspector on the construction and his immediate nei- <br />
