Mr. Zelinka moved to close the hearing on Colonial Woods at 10:00 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Dean McGowan, Insurance Agent, presented the Council with more detailed inform- ation on the Errors and Ommission coverage for Council members. The premium for one year is $670.00 with a three year policy available for $1808.00. This insurance covers the Board members against all manner of lawsuits. This would also cover em- ployees acting for Council members. Mr. McGowan also recommended the Council members be covered under Workman's Compensation. In conjunction with this coverage, Mr. McLean asked if a Council member were riding in one of the City Patrol cars, what coverage would he have? Mr. McGowan said, basically none, unless it could be proven the Patrolman had been negligent. Mr. Karth asked if this would have any effect on the present coverage each member might have and Mr. McGowan said, None. Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Workman's Compensation for Council members - premium approximately $100.00 per year. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously Mr. McLean moved to lay over for budget consideration the Errors and Ommission cov- erage. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried. Mr. Zelinka asked the cost for individuals to purchase this coverage and Mr. McGowan said he would have to research this. Mr. Locher arrived at 10:30 P.M. Mr. Schneider felt this is important and should be considered at this time. Mr. McLean felt he would prefer to see how this will fit into the budget. After some discussion, it was held for discisi_,n at the budget meetings. Mr. McGowan had researched Hospital coverage for the employees. He gave some cost figures and briefly discussed the coverage. Mr. Karth asked if copies could be had for study and Mr. McGowan said he would get copies to the members. Mr. McLean returned to the Planning and Zoning Board recommendations. Mr. Nadeau had presented a preliminary plat for East Birch Addition. This had not been re- viewed by the Planner, Engineer, Rice Creek Watershed Board, County Highway Depart- ment or County Surveyor. The Planning and Zoning had recommended approval of the pre- liminary plat. Mr. McLean questioned the money in lieu of land for parks and Mr. Nad- eau said the money would be paid within 30 days of transfer of title on the lots. This would be 10% of the valuation. Mr. McLean moved to approve the preliminary plat and set a public hearing for the final plat on October 12, 1976 at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously.
