231 <br />April II, 1977 <br />Mrs. Burdall Smith of East Shadow Lake Drive had written requesting a street light be <br />installed at the corner of East Shadow Lake Drive and Birch Street. Since that street <br />is not to exit at that intersection, the City has been reluctant to consider the install <br />ation of a street light. However, review of the street lights now existing and the poss <br />ible need for additional lights has been scheduled for July. Mr. Schneider moved to de- <br />fer consideration of this request until July with Mr. Volk to have recommendations ready <br />for that review. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimows“' <br />Mr. Zelinka suggested the consideration of reflective signs. Mr. McLean suggested the <br />installation of a security light. <br />Mr. Karth said he will try to have a report on the proposed auction by the next Council <br />meeting. <br />Mr. McLean had no report from the Planning and Zoning Board. <br />Mr. Schneider reported on the meeting he attended in Bunker Park on the proposed use <br />of a Mud Cat to clean and /or dredge the lakes. This was mostly a question and answer <br />sesssion. He had obtained some material on the machine. This is to be passed on to <br />Mr. Volk. <br />Mr. Zelinka had no report from the Personnel Commission. However, the Clerk had a quest- <br />ion as to the amount of salary increase due to Chief Myhre. This matter has not been de- <br />cided by the Council. It was suggested Mr. Zelinka present this matter to the Personnel <br />Commission for a recommendation. He will contact the Clerk with a suggested meeting <br />date. <br />Mr. Locher said he had checked the Police contract and all seemed to be in order. Mr. <br />McLean moved to accept. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Gotwald had checked the request from Northwestern Bell Telephone for the installation <br />of buried cable. Mr. McLean moved to approve the request for the East - West portion <br />of Baldwin Lake Road. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Zelinka <br />moved to approve the request for Ash Street at Holly Drive. Seconded by Mr. McLean. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve the request for the Pine Haven <br />Plan. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Gotwald had checked the copy of the agreement forwarded from the St. Paul Water De- <br />partment in connection with the installation of the sewer on LaMotte Drive. He felt <br />this was in order and could be approved. Mr. Zelinka so moved. Seconded by Mr. Karth <br />Motion carried unanimously. The Clerk was instructed to be sure a copy of the Resolut- <br />approving this agreement be sent with the signed copies. <br />Mr. Locher said a copy should be made and forwarded to the Insurance agent. <br />On considering the proposal for a rabies clinic. Mr. Schneider moved to defer this until <br />next year in order to have time for publicity. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />On consideration of the proposed purchase of a street sweeper, Mr. Karth explained the <br />reasoning behind this suggested purchase. Mr. Gotwald agreed this will become a nec- <br />essary piece of equipment as the plats develop with the streets and curbs. But, he <br />added this must have a hopper to collect the dirt. <br />Mr. Karth said this decision must be made now as this piece of equipment will not re- <br />
