26
The Clerk was instructed to keep a separate record of all buried lines.
Mr. Bohjanen asked if there had been any more discussion or negotiation on the
possibility of the corner on Peltier Drive straightening. The one person who
had objected before still feels the same; the St. Paul Water Department had not
been there yet. A letter was to be sent reminding them of the work. There was
some discussion on this.
Mr. Rosengren introduced Mr. John Schleppegrell, Manager for Shoreview, who was
in the audience. Mr. Schleppegrell stated that Shoreview and Lino Lakes seemed
to have several things in common, as regards trailer parks, sewer district, sign
ordinance, etc., and that he would be glad to help and cooperate with us if he
could be of any assistance to our problems.
Mr. Bohjanen stated that he had spoken with the County Commissioner about the
guardrail and reflectorized post on Sunset and the bridge, and that these things
have been ordered. However, negotiation with Blaine will be necessary in order
to get a street light in that area.
Mr. Bohjanen then asked whether the Conservation Department or the Engineer had
a report ready on the Jandric projects. Mr. Gotwald stated that they had com-
pleted the site wells and the test borings; that we would get written reports.
He felt there was no fear of the bottom having been punctured and the springs
were bubbling close by, enough to raise the water level three inches in the past
two weeks. The only water in Reshanau is in the part that has been dredged; it
will take some time for the level to come up as there is not much run -in since
the edges are sealed. Mr. Gotwald stated that Rice Creek is absolutely dry.
Also, Jandric is done with the golf course except for the landscaping; the models
are about done and the landscaping also, but they are waiting for electric heat
to be put in. There is an automatic springling system in the golf course; one
hole needs work on the drainage; they have started seeding.
Mr. Bohjanen reported that he had called the company to see what the cost would
be to make another Village flag to fly at the Hall. He also thought it would
be nice to have similar decals made for the truck doors. Mr. Scherer asked
how long before the brochure would be done; Mr. Bohjanen thought about two
months.
It was decided to wait for the report on the road program.
Mr. Locher read a letter he had received from Mr. Burstein's office regarding the
dissolution of the municipal court property. The Minnesota Reports had been
appraised at $575; however there was a balance due yet on them in the amount of
$147.50. The Minn. Statutes Annotated were appraised at $225; another four
books at $25.00 for all. The appraisal fee was $25.00. The letter also dealt
with the matter of the bids, etc. Mrs. Bohjanen mentioned that the Attorney for
Lexington had recommended that Lexington keep these books as the court was held
there; also, didn't our police once indicate that they wanted them? Mr. Locher
replied that the set did not include current annotations; the language of the
books was such that it would be necessary to go to an attorney for interpretation
anyway.
After discussion, Mr. Rosengren moved to send a $25.00 sealed bid to the Court
on the portable electric typewriter. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried.
1
1
1
