34
least while he is on the Board. The County Commissioners had approved the roadway
out to County Road 21. They also had plans to lease 100 acres or so from the St.
Paul Water Department. Mr. Kordiak felt it would make for poor relations if they
were made to get out of Centerville Park. They have no schedule for other park
plans now but will notify the Village when such are drawn up.
Mr. Jaworski reported that the hockey rink was up but they had no goals yet. He
stated that professional -type goals would cost about $300 each, however. he could
have a pair made for a total cost of $125.00 These would be made of 1 1/4" pipe and
chain link fencing.
Mrs. Darlene Linderman asked when the park property on Baldwin Lake would be developed.
Mr. Jaworski explained that this would not be a playground type area. Mrs. Tufts
asked what park area the Village planned in the north part of Lino; Mr. L'Allier
stated that part of the 30 acres on Main Street would be used for park purposes.
The proposed park areas on the proposed zoning map were pointed out to the audience.
Mr. Rosengren moved to authorize the expenditure of $125.00 for a pair of hockey
goals. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. Mr. Jaworski stated that
these would be ready when the ice was on the ground.
Mr. Jaworski stated that he had received calls on snowmobiles in the parks. Snow-
mobiles are not allowed in the park since they take down the small trees; we have
no separate snowmobile ordinance as such, but any violations would be covered under
the nuisance ordinance if somplaints were signed. There are three organized snow-
mobile clubs in the Village; apparently it is the non - members who are causing the
trouble. Mr. Scherer reported that snowmobilers had cut 8 or 9 holes in the chain
link fence on 35E. Mr. Bohjanen noted that the same type people cause trouble with
horses or motorcycles. He had stopped one once. There was discussion on raising of,
the misdemeanor fines to $300; the State licensing all snowmobiles, policing and
local problems.
Mr. Jaworski reported that he had received a call about the basement left where the
house on the corner of Elm Street and Highway 8 had burned down. There was fear
that children might be hurt besides the basement being an eyesore. They felt that
the basement should be filled in and the lot cleaned up. Mr. Cardinal moved that
the police should contact the owners and ask them to fill in the basement and clean
up the Oroperty besides hauling away the junk vehicles. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski.
Carried.
Mr. Rosengren reported that the snowfence had been put up; however, they still
needed 14 rolls; the best price seemed to be at Knox Lumber. Mr. Jaworski moved to
purchase 14 rolls of snowfence. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
Mr. Jaworski also reported that the state was doing a poor job of snowplowing the
intersection of Lilac Street and Fourth Avenue. The Clerk stated that she had talked
with the State on this problem last spring and had been told that the State does
not plow that portion of Lilac; rather, the County does. Mr. Jaworski moved to
send a letter to the County to do a better job of snowplowing the intersection of
Highway 326 and Fourth Avenue as well as that of Main Street and Fourth Avenue.
Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried.
Mr. Rosengren reported that they had a problem on the East County Line since there
were big ruts left by trucks after the gravelling and subsequent freeze.
Mr. Bohjanen reported that he had talked with Blaine on the light on 35W and Sunset.
There was some question as to procedure. Blaine was willing to go half on the cost
