36
desire to change their decision on the Saddle Club trailer, since Mr. Schwankl had
had to move his caretaker's trailer. Mrs. Linderman asked about Schmits' trailer
and was told that this hearing was next month.
Mr. L'Allier mentioned that he had received a complaint about deer hunting in the
County Road J area. The police will take care of this.
Mr. L'Allier mentioned that Centerville had asked that someone from Lino go over
to negotiate on the fire contract. Mr. L'Allier was willing to attend; Mr.
Bohjanen stated he would also.
Mr. L'Allier suggested that a time limit be set on any one issue at a meeting;
herhaps 15 minutes. That persons coming before them should not expect immediate
action, but that these matters be placed on the agenda of a future meeting.
Mr. Bohjanen stated that persons calling the Clerk to be on the agenda should pro-
vide a written statement of their general topic. The decision on this will be made
next time, as well as considering limiting reports too.
Mr. L'Allier suggested that the Council set forth priorities and recommendations
to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a guide to follow; that thsCouncil review
and recommend changing of the Planning and Zoning ordinance; perhaps set forth
projects for the commission to work on in their slack time.
The police report was read as follows: 2216 miles traveled, 6 assists, 2 stolen
snowmobiles, 1 forceable entry, 11 complaints, 8 accidents, 12 escapees from the
Youth Center requiring 5 hours time, 1 recovered property, 1 domestic, 5 recovered
automobiles and 1 medical assist.
Mr. L'Allier also reported that as he was coming home he had seen an accident on
Highway 14: the car had rolled over with one man pinned under it. The Lino Lakes
police responded within two minutes. Mr. L'Allier especially commended Officer
Myhre for the fine job he did in jacking up the car to help the man, and generally
for the way in which they handled the whole matter. Mr. Al Ross had also commended
the police for the fine way in which they handled an emergency across the road from
him.
Mr. Myhre reported that they had no respirator, only an oxygen tank. They needed
several items, he will bring a list to the next police meeting. Mr. Myhre mentioned
that State law does not require that the policemen carry First Aid cards; however,
every man on our force has one, and they are all working toward their advanced First
Aid cards on their own. He asked if we were receiving monthly reports from Municipal
Court- -the Clerk told him that the two just reported were the first she had received
since the July report.
Mr. Myhre reported that there were no speed signs on Highway 326 or any on Lilac,
and none between Hwy. 8 and Fourth on Main Street. It was mentioned that when
Centerville was having problems getting signs put up they contacted Sen. Greig
and signs had been put up three days later. The Clerk mentioned that she had been
contacted by the County sign man and promised that 35 mph signs would be put up
by Lino School in December; the signing there would be similar to all other school
zones in the County.
Mr. Myhre discussed prices he had gotten on sirens; he will submit written estimates
later.
