130 <br />attend the next Council meeting on June 8th for discussion of the speed zoning as <br />well as painting double yellow stripes in the area and placing blinking yellow <br />lights and /or a red push- button light in order to prevent another fatality in <br />the area. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, Motion carried unanimously. <br />Someone in the audience suggested a demonstration and march on the County Court- <br />house. This idea was dismissed with Mr. Bohjanen suggesting that the parents <br />attend the Board of County Commissioners meeting the following morning at 9:00 a.m. <br />Follow -up letters could be sent. The audience felt that our local police should <br />keep a closer watch on the area between 3:30 and 8:00 p.m. Mr. Locher was asked <br />to word a petition to be signed and sent to Mr. Burman before the next meeting. <br />The hearing for rezoning to commercial requested by Mr. Keith Apitz was called to <br />order at 8:41 p.m. Mr. Locher read the notices and declared all to be in order. <br />Mr. Cardinal stated that the request for a variance had been discussed at the <br />Planning & Zoning meeting and was recommended by that body. Mr. Cardinal stated <br />that Mr. Apitz was no longer asking for permission to install gas pumps, but that <br />if he desired to do so at a later date, he would ask for a special use permit. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to grant a variance to Mr. Keith Apitz for a second 251 strip <br />of land described as follows: <br />That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section 30, <br />Township 31, Range 22, Anoka County, Minnesota, described as follows: <br />Beginning at the intersection of the South line of said tract and the <br />centerline of State Highway No. 49 as now established; thence East along <br />said South line and the centerline of a public road for 458 feet to the <br />actual point of beginning of the tract of land to be hereby described; <br />thence continuing East along said line for a distance of 25 feet; thence <br />North at right angles for a distance of 170 feet; thence West parallel <br />with the first course for 25 feet; thence South 170 feet to the point of <br />beginning. <br />Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to rezone to commercial, for Keith and Jane Apitz, the property <br />described in Ordinance 6T, for general vehicle and small engine repair as well as <br />the sale and repair of snowmobiles under the limited commercial section of <br />Ordinance 6. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. The hearing closed <br />at 8:51 p.m. There were no comments pro or con from the audience. <br />The hearing set for Chomonix East was called to order at 8:52 p.m. The Clerk read <br />another letter from Don Waalen asking for a continuance of the hearing until <br />June 8th. Mr. Bohjanen moved to continue the hearing for Chomonix East until <br />June 8th, 1970 at 8:30 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. <br />Hearing closed at 8:55 p.m. <br />Mr. Jaworski had no report. Mr. Cardinal stated that Mr. Omer Cardinal was again <br />requesting a 90 day permit to park his trailer on his own land for the summer. The <br />Planning & Zoning Board had recommended granting the permit. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to grant a variance to Ordinance No. 39A to Mr. Omer Cardinal <br />to place a trailer home for a period of 90 days, from June 1 to September 1, 1970 <br />on his lot described as follows: <br />
