Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski inquired about what was happening as far as bids on a new truck. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that they had held off in favor of getting the building <br />specs ready; Merit Chevrolet has one in stock similar to what we want - -he had <br />seen one. There' is now a 90 -120 day waiting period for the trucks. He will have <br />the specs worked up for presentation at the next meeting. He had had no chance <br />to look at the broom for the park tractor. <br />Mr. Locher stated that Mr. Gotwald had called him today on the building specs <br />bids; the specs are ready. It is only necessary to publish the ad once in the <br />legal newspaper at least 10 days before the bids are to be opened on June 22nd. <br />This will also be published in the commercial engineering paper. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported that the GOP club has a flag, which was flown over the White <br />House, to present to the Council to fly in Sunrise Park on June 8th. Also, the <br />VFW will purchase a new flag to be flown at the Village Hall. Mr. Rosengren noted <br />that we will need a new flagpole for the new building- -also, the small pond <br />on the property is full of timbers and sticks. <br />Mr. Bohjsnen suggested that the Planning & Zoning study the matter of setting a <br />distance between homes built on commercial property of 10 feet the same as in <br />residential areas. W. Locher checked the ordinance and found no mention of this <br />for homes in commercial areas. W. Bohjanen wondered whether one of Clyde <br />Rehbein's duplexes was 10 feet from a neighboring lot at one point. After dis- <br />cussion, Mr. Bohjanen moved that a letter be sent to the Building Inspector with <br />carbon copies to all Council members, stating that he should check to see that <br />all houses built in oaaaeroial areas are at least 10 feet from the property lines. <br />Seconded by lk. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier read the police report for April as follows: 2,793.2 miles driven, <br />230 business and home checks, 27 complaints, 19 escapees from Lino Youth Center, <br />6 escapees returned to the center by our dept., 14 hours spent on escapees plus <br />1 1/2 hrs. spent unrelated to escapees, 14 assists to/by other depts., 6 junk <br />warnings given, 4 grass fires, 2 petty thefts (1 solved), 3 aids given to <br />motorists, 2 domestics, 2 stolen snowmobiles, 2 accidents, 2 medioals, 1 dog <br />bite, 1 runaway juvenile, 1 burglary (solved with 2 arrests), 1 auto theft. <br />lam. L'Allier noted that after the repent rash of escapees frost the Youth Center, <br />that the police had met with the administrator and security men at the Center, <br />that they had toured the oanplex and discussed the problem of late notification <br />of escapees. The officials stated that they hadn't wanted to bother us =leas <br />they were unable to catch the escapees themselves. We got the point across that <br />we wished immediate notification when an escape was discovered. <br />1 <br />
