1 4 <br />the Metro Council concerning a proposed sanitary landfill in Blaine by Johnson Bros. <br />Construction. The fill is to be taken from a quarry located in the area,of Hwy 36 <br />and Stinson Blvd., and will be dumped with equal amounts of sand on the Blaine site to <br />eventually form a ski slide. It was noted that we might receive obnoxious odors if <br />the wind is in the right direction since the location is in Section 13 in Blaine, <br />between Lexington Ave. and Sunset Drive. W. Rosengren commented on the amount end <br />type of equipment which Johnson Bros. has already obtained to do the job. It was <br />decided that if anyone wanted to discuss this further at the next meeting to notify <br />the Clerk to put it on the agenda. <br />Mr. Jaworski noted that he had not, gotten bids on a new paint sprayer. W. Rosengren <br />stated that Mr. Gotwald would have estimates for the summer roed,work by the next <br />meeting. Also, Mr. Schiffsky will provide gravel from the Hansen pit through July. <br />Mr. Roaengren presented a resolution received from the County regarding the taking <br />over of a piece of Old Hwy 8 from Hwy 49 (Lilac Street) to Pine. Street and renumbering <br />it,as County #23. Mr. Rosengren moved to adopt the proposed resolution on the above. <br />Seconded by,Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he had received an offer of $15.00 from a Mr. David Coyer <br />for the old iron -wheel grader. Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the above offer and to <br />sell the grader. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Rosengren read a letter from Ken Rehbein asking that 2 holes left in Nancy <br />Drive by the gas company be filled in. The Clerk was instructed to call North <br />Central to have them do something about it. <br />Mr. Rosengren also stated that the pond at the new hall location doesn't look too <br />good; also, it might be dangerous for.obildren. He suggested that it be filled back <br />in. Mr. L'Allier moved to have the pond hole filled back in. Seconded by Mr. <br />Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. Mr. Rosengren was authorised to get a,turnepul to <br />do the work. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved, on Mr. Locher's approval, to grant the following licenses: <br />1. On and off sale 3,2 beer to the following: Luther LeVesseur, Delores <br />Peters, Annie Ross and Jim C. Aragon; <br />2. Off sale 3.2 beer to Hank Speiser; <br />3. Dance lioease to Jimmy Aragon. <br />Seconded by Mr.4aworski. Carried unanimously. The Clerk mentioned that Mr. Van de Loo <br />of the State Tax Dept., had brought in -e copy of the signed affidavit from Stanley <br />Thayer. <br />W. Bohjanen stated that there had been no Community & Business Development Commission <br />meeting since the last Council meeting. However, he had been approached by people <br />on Reshanau Lake who oomplained that the developer had'left a few mosquito holes. <br />Also, the area on the opposite side of the lake from the models was in bad shape <br />with weeds and brush. W. Bohjanen wished to have the Mosquito Control brought in <br />or ask Jandric to do something about the problem. W. L'Allier stated that he <br />had already talked with Mr. Gotwald about the problem and that the Conservation Dept. <br />was discussing the matter with Jandric about the possibility of spraying the weeks. <br />W. Bohjanen moved to authorize the Clerk to check with Mr. Gotwald in a week or so <br />on the problem, and if it still exists, to write the Mosquito Control to spray the <br />area. Seconded by W. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. Copies of the letter, if <br />written, will be sent to the Conservation Dept., to Jandrie, the Engineer and the <br />Council. <br />1 <br />
